Travelling on day after train strike...

I had booked to travel by sleeper train on 16 Sept but it's just been cancelled due to strike, so I need to find an alternative train route from London to Aberdeen, BUT all the train providers have suspended ticket sales for 14-18 Sept as they don't know which trains will be running yet.

I have signed up for alerts when tickets are available, but have no idea how much availability there will be (not much, I don't think).

Is there anything else I can do?

(I don't want to fly.)

I don't think you can do much. DD travelled the day after a recent strike. Trains didn't run until around 11am the next day, but after that it qas normal service. We're in a town on a moon stream service to places like Paddington, York and Edinburgh.

Oh, ok, so maybe try to book a train after 11 ish... Thanks.

The only other thing is to book a coach, which will take even longer and you'd have to sleep in your sear. But if you could get up to say Edinburgh, there might be more availability of trains for the remaining journey

Why aren’t more trains moon stream services? That would get people out of their cars and onto public transport!
