Credit Card Recommendations

Hi everyone,
I am looking to switch credit card and I was looking for recommendations. Of particular importance to me are:

  • no annual fee
  • good customer service, particularly in the event of fraud (has happened a couple of times to me in the past)
  • a good website
Any recommendations / ones to avoid would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've got a 0% Virgin Credit Card. Can't recommend it. Website is clunky and they try and push you to fill in online forms when forms are not available for the issue you have!

I've had loads of credit cards due to switching round the offers and website and customer service seem much of a muchness. There's been the odd incidence of fraud and they just cancel the card and send a new one.

Are you not interested in earning cashback/vouchers or one that can be used abroad without charges?

Some supermarkets do cards that earn you points, which can work out quite lucrative if do most of your shopping in one particular supermarket, otherwise some cards do cashback - I have a 0.5% Barclays one, but I've had it for years and i don't know if they still do it. I also have a M&S one that gives 1% on all M&S spend and I get a few vouchers and extra offers each year. It's not a huge amount of money but it's a little extra bonus that I wouldn't otherwise have.

I have a Sainsburys card, I collect Nectar points on it so its helpful that way.

Website is good and so it the App, much better than Virgin IMO.

It depends on a number of things such as if you carry over balances or pay them off in full each month. It also depends on the interest rates and types of benefits you are looking for. A good website to buy credit cards is brains club.
