I booked a holiday to Center Parcs in August 2022 and everything went fine, luckily. However, I was not comfortable with their version of travel insurance - "Flex your Stay" - that I paid about £50 for. It only applied up to 3 days before the holiday started and then you got zero of your money back. What if my kids had broken a leg or gotten a vomiting bug 1 or 2 days before we were due to leave? I wanted to get travel insurance to cover for this as well so went on one of the comparison websites but they seemed to want an in-depth medical history for everyone involved and I just gave up. If I do this kind of holiday again, what is the best and simplest way to get comprehensive travel insurance, please? Same question applies to eurostar tickets, they are flexible only in terms of you can exchange them for a different set of tickets. If you do this 7 days before the departure date you have to pay £30 per person per leg of the journey. This costs more than the tickets I intend to buy! Thanks for any advice! I am in my 40s and fairly clued up on a lot of things but this area is a black hole for me...
