Most reliable supermarket delivery?

We used to get regular Ocado deliveries but a combination of rising costs and dissatisfaction with the overpriced M&S food options (it was much better when it was Waitrose) means we’re trying different options. I’m having chemotherapy so DP is busy looking after me and family and working so doesn’t have much time to go to the shops and I’m quite particular about what foods I want/can eat while on treatment so random substitutions are a pain.

We’re trying Asda and while the prices are definitely better, today’s delivery has 7 substitutions even though I updated the order last night so thought the available stock would be available. This includes two different types of soup which is all I can eat at the moment and I can’t stomach either of the substituted flavours.

The best thing about Ocado is it’s reliable and substitutions are rare. So which other supermarket might be better than Asda or is this par for the course with most deliveries?

Thank you!

I get Morrisons and they are reliably on time and don't miss deliveries. However there's often subs or worse still no alternative offered! I think they are all pretty much the same though. Still beats going to supermarket for a big shop!

I mirror your post in many ways and just stopped my Ocado smart pass. Asda’s substitutions are many and strange! I think Waitrose are solidly the most reliable and best quality/sensible choices. Seconded by Sainsbury’s.

IME this is very area-dependent, and also hinges on whether the online orders are fulfilled from a branch or from a big warehouse. I've moved house a couple of times in the last few years and in all three areas the 'best' supermarket for fewest subs has been different each time.
