WTH is this in my eye? Picture attached

Is it a stye or something else?

I noticed it exactly 7 days ago after I last wore makeup so it may or may not be related to that.

It doesn't hurt all that much but it is irritating and slightly concerning being so close to my eyeball.

I had this, it was a cyst, had a more technical name. Unfortunately it didn't go on its own and I needed a minor procedure to remove it.
Apply a warm flannel a few times a day and hopefully it will go.

I'd say too far in for stye. You could probably get an optician appointment today to get it checked. I took DD to optician when she kept rubbing her eye, more to rule out need for glasses before going to gp. Optician was able to see something had scratched the inside of her eye lid and prescribed drops. No need for gp visit.

It’s a blocked oil gland, also known as a chalazion.

First line treatment is massaging with a hot compress 4-5 times a day, and see your optician or GP if it doesn’t resolve Smile

Meibomian Cyst.

A quick Google will tell you what you need to do. Don’t wait for it to go away itself make an appointment with your gp.

Thank you for the replies.

I did suspect it wasn't a stye as it doesn't hurt per se, and I know that styes usually do.

I go on holiday next Monday and don't think I'll be able to get a GP apt before then. I'll give my opticians a call and see if it's something they can help with, it's alot easier getting an apt with them.

Try hot compresses on it. I too had one drained but have had others start and seen them off. Do you have blepharitis and/or rosacea as this can contribute.

I don't have either no.

I suspect its a result of a makeup brush I used to apply eyeshadow under my eyes. I hadn't worn make-up in a while and never put eyeshadow under my eyes, until the one time I do then i end up with this 🙈
