Air fryers

I’ve seen a lot about how people are turning towards air fryer now-and how they’re cheaper than using ovens. Went and looked at some in a shop today. Are they a (large) gadget that will gather dust, or will it be my new best friend? My first opinion is that the cooking area didn’t seem very big.

They take up space but are versatile.
I suppose it depends on what you cook mostly.

Op absolutely tons of threads on them , search back.a few pages because some people have put recipes on

I absolutely love mine, makes oven seems clumpy and useless.

in an oven, I can cook several things at once - roast chicken, roast potatoes etc, - are air fryers more of a one food item?

I have a small one (I live alone). It does me fine. Cost £50 (down from £100 in a sale).

I cook chicken wings in mine for 10 min or so, then chuck Med style veg on top for another 10 minutes. All cooked to perfection.

You can get dual basket ones which seem good for cooking different things and can program for being ready at the same time. I am thinking about getting one but just worried about it taking up too much space on the worktop

I have had mine a month and am using it most days.
I have even baked bread and biscuits in it.
Really pleased with it.
Tonight I used it to do pork chops and chips and roast cauli. All cooked quicker than in the oven - and oven chips come out beautifully crisp.

I wonder if they're just good for a certain type of cooking. Lots of chips snd this or that protein.

JustTheOneSwan · 02/09/2022 22:45

Mine gets used mostly for roast chicken, sausage and bacon, cheese toasties and roast veg. DC make burgers, wings and wedges.

I’ve just bought a ninja dual basket air fryer
I takes up less room than i thought in my kitchen but I do have plenty of space

I cooked chicken breast and roast potatoes and I can’t get over how quick and easy it was to do
much better than my oven

Somethingneedstochange · 02/09/2022 22:47

I love mine you don't have to wait for it to heat up it's instant. They do banging.

I use my Ninja Foodi at least once a day so highly recommend it
