Is there a washer-drier that does a good job?

I want to replace our washing machine with a washer-drier (yes, I know, energy prices!)
I know they had a reputation for being rubbish a few years ago, but I'm hoping the technology has improved by now?!

Does anyone have one that they're impressed with please?

No, they're shite.

Yep unfortunately in my experience they are shite too.

Still shite.

I have one and it’s rubbish. It knots everything together into a big lump then heats the hell out of it. Nothing dries.

I dry clothes outside or on my heated airer instead.

Where did you get your heated airer from?
I have one and crap too😢

Agree with PPs - rubbish as they ever were. I am in love with my Lakeland heated Airer if you have the space.

I've got one, a Samsung 9kg wash 6kg dry. It's about 7 years old. They are expensive to buy.

It's not crap, but I've never owned a separate tumble dryer to compare it to- apart from an ancient one in a rental place. It was really handy when the kids were little and we were in a tiny house. I use it less and less now due to cost. I have a heated airer too.

I think it depends what your alternatives are, how much space you have etc.

Mine is good

Though the way I do it

Wash a load

Split in half

Dry each half separate

Takes most of the evening to do this as they are not super quick

Its a indiset xwde751480

I brought it for the washing machine, the drying option comes in handy

I do not have space for a separate dryer

I use to use a seperate Spin dryer before drying but it broke, that did make it quicker though

Also owing to the cost of electric this winter I will hopefully not be using it

Instead I plan to use a normal dryer in a small room

And use a dehumidifier,

Done this in the past and works well

Clothes dry over night and running costs are a lot lower

I have one that REALLY dries. It’s a Miele twindos. It’s really economical. It was also close to two grand a couple of years back. I paid, but I live in a flat and I was fed up with living in a Chinese laundry.

Oh the Samsung one I had was so so bad. Not cheap and didn't even make it a year. Washed badly, completely ruined clothes put through a drying cycle and leaked despite 3 repairs in 10 months. Didn't last a year before it was replaced. Their customer service is also appalling and AO had to step in after I refused a fourth repair.
