Any suggestions?
We are going there for a couple of days and would like suggestions for indoor and outdoor activities with a 19MO please!

We are already taking her over to PeppaPig world on one of the days.

Much appreciated!

South Parade Pier and Clarence Pier

Canoe Lake

Beach by Square Tower in Old Portsmouth to watch the ships

Model village

Manor Farm (near Southampton)

Staunton (little zoo and walks)

Aquarium.
butterfly house.
west wittering beach
southsea beach is pebbly but with a bit of sand so there’s always rocks to skim and shells to look for. Also fine for a bit of a paddle.

All of the above.

Southsea common

Hovercraft to IOW

Fratron/Pompey centre has a soft play (weather forecast for rain at weekend)

Staunton farm really isn't Portsmouth, it's Havant, a good 15-20 minutes drive.
All of the above suggestions are good, Southsea has a little castle which I believe is free entry, and a huge playground by Canoe Lake. You can go crabbing in Canoe Lake too. Sometimes they have bouncy castle style attractions there too.
My DS used to love going to the little Model Village by Canoe Lake and the Natural History museum. None of these are huge but probably perfect for your DS age.
I personally wouldn't bother with the aquarium, it's not cheap and you'll be round it in 10 minutes.

Oops DD sorry!

Thank you for all of these wonderful suggestions!

There's also a fair on Clarence Pier and South parade pier usually has some good little rides for smaller ones.

Despite living not far we haven't been for years because we visit the closer and sandy at low tide beach near me now because my ds is older!

Exploria softplay - it’s huge, opened last year and lots to do.

Canoe Lake - nice playground and splash park, also where the model village is. There’s a little natural history museum here too - Cumberland House - and a nice tea rooms
very close by

Clarence Pier is nice, arcades, fair rides. There’s another soft play here - Pirate Petes - but not one I’d recommend!

Theres a few nice playgrounds for toddlers - College Park in Copnor and Baffins Park & Pond

Avoid - the aquarium. Not worth it at all.

Definitely head to canoe lake. Nice playground, really lovely model village with the friendliest staff, natural history museum & butterfly house and south parade pier & beach right across the road. Plus the tenth hole tearooms just along from canoe lake for amazing cakes. All of that would be perfect for that age.

For older kids I'd say the historic dockyard but that would really be more for your benefit at this age.

Model Village is fab, lovely staff and perfect for a little one.

SorrelForbes · 03/09/2022 18:48

I only mentioned Staunton as the OP said about going to Paultons so I presumed they were able to travel around.

Pretty sure Pirate Petes has closed. It was very grotty anyway.
