Post breastfeeding/pregnancy nipples

Hi,

I have a 7 month old who I have stopped breastfeeding a month ago, I only bf him on my right side because my left side was always a bit flat and I could never get the latch right, the breast tissue/nipple tissue didn’t feel as elastic if that makes sense?

I noticed about a month ago or more that if it’s cold as in like maybe just about to get in the shower the skin around the left (non bf) nipple looked a bit pinched/puckered and now today I took my bra off and the nipple was completely inverted. I’ve had a feel around and can’t feel any lump.

Am I right that this warrants a GP visit? They aren’t going to think I’m a time waster because maybe it’s normal after pregnancy or bf? This is my second baby and it didn’t happen after my first!

Thanks, not sure if I’m overthinking!

I don't think you're overthinking, I think it needs a GP visit! Especially now it's inverting when it wasn't before.

I only fed on one side with my first too, for the same reasons you describe. Little one could not latch on it properly and caused scarring which looks like a crator or dip on the nipple. Which could be what you describe. Visit GP anyway to get a proper check over, but it could just be damaged from poor latch.

Thank you, I’ll ring up on Tuesday!

Yes this is what it feels like, like scar tissue! I knew the latch was bad but didn’t know it could do damage like that. I’ll still go to the GP anyway for hopefully peace of mind, but thank you that’s been really useful info
