Things going missing from hospital

My DF is in hospital and is quite weak and vulnerable , but improving . He has had good care and I am grateful.

However I have this niggle that now two games I've brought in have gone missing. I no longer leave things on his table.

It's a ward full of elderly men who don't and can't leave their beds. I don't see many relatives and there certainly aren't people wandering around as it's in a corner of the hospital, and I am there most of the time . It's making me feel suspicious and a bit sick towards the nurses, many of whom to be frank are downright rude. There are some nice ones and the matrons are nice but after weeks of visiting I am a bit over the outright rudeness from some, and now things going missing . Obviously they're not expensive things but it's really got on my wick.

I've spent a while in hospital a few years back and had a really good experience and all the nurses were absolutely wonderful so this has really depressed me .

Can anyone relate ?

I’m sorry, it’s horrible. You’d think you’d be able to trust people in a hospital, FGS.,
My dd had her mobile nicked the morning after giving birth, when she went for a shower. Unbelievable - or so I’d have thought before.

Thanks, and that's awful for your dd , she must have been so upset as that's an emotional time anyway.

These aren't valuables, it's just when you leave a loved one who is vulnerable somewhere it makes it all feel less safe

This happened when my mum was in hospital, so I wrote her initials on her belongings in big letters and this stopped it. Also, I made sure she didn't have anything valuable with her.

Do you mean board / card games OP? If so they may have been innocently picked up and put in a cupboard / box with other games, commonly used for dementia patients. Might be worth asking a friendly HCA or ward clerk.
