So if you could choose your Groundhog Day what would it be?

Thought of the big red letter days, like getting married, but they always have an element of stress.
So I’m choosing today. Day off. Leisurely breakfast. Short run before it got too hot then drive to a quiet local spot for a picnic. Home for a nap then easy but delicious dinner, couple of glasses of wine and a bit of trash TV. Simple but perfect day. What’s yours?

What does Groundhog Day mean? Is it perfect day?

a day you want to repeat if you could, like the episode in Stargate where earth was stuck in a time loop and repeated the same day, till they fixed the looping

Oh I would just sleep. On a continuous loop 🤣

one of those really good sleeps. Like the “4pm I’ve fallen asleep facedown and sideways across my bed and I’ve woken up at 10pm and I don’t know what year it is” kind of sleeps.

A day to live over again and again.

A cliche, but my wedding day. All my favourite people in the same venue with amazing food and loads of alcohol, it was great, and there wasn't much stress at all!

A recent day at a caravan park- where the children got up alone and left us till ten, we had a a late brunch/ breakfast. We played battleship, and then left for the beach. We went through the rock pools looking for crabs and shells (found a huge! Eatable! Crab- only to see he was carrying a smaller crab beneath him- and so we left him behind, with his loved one) we had ice creams on the promenade, and then went paddle boarding for a few hours . Stopped for a pint / coke and a game of cards in the pub on the way back. DH Played badminton in the field with the dc whilst I cooked the evening meal. We ate, and laughed, and then watched crappy tv. I gave in to the childrens pleas for later and later bedtime. I ended up tipsy and them up till 11! Then we put them to bed and had a gin and tonic together. Not an argument, or ill thought for a whole day. Which is so unusual.

Or any of the last five Christmases. I've finally nailed Christmas. Great food, always laughter, perfect balance of relaxation and excitement. (All of which is helped by the dc ages! Old enough to enjoy and play family games, young enough not to be grunting moany teens)

Definitely my wedding day - it was fairly low key compared to other people’s so no stress on the day at all. I really wasn’t ready for it to be over, it was a hotel venue so me, DH and a few wedding guests stayed up until the early hours of the morning because I refused to go to bed, I kept saying ‘no, I’m not finished with my wedding day!’ I was really bummed out the week after that it was all done, it was like having the back home from holiday blues 😂
