Any advice

I have a lot of them and they feel like a variety of scratches, of different pressures, depending on area of body. But the lines they do are so short that even if it gets pretty sore, they lift off again.

Can I ask if people tip their tattooist? Is that normal?

The wrist tickled me.
it all depends on your pain tolerance

I’ve got a tiny one on the inside of my wrist and it was the most painful one I’ve had. Arms, legs, hips, spine etc have all been fine but I’d never have another one there.

OP, it goes to show it’s all relative.

I have 3 small ones. One the back of my neck didn't hurt at all. 2nd on the outside of my wrist just felt like scratching. 3rd is on my ear at the top like where you would have a helix piercing and I didn't feel a thing. When she finished I sat there and thought maybe that was just a part of the tracing but she said she had finished, I was so shocked because I read it was painful. It really depends on your pain threshold.

I don't! If I'm paying between £400-£700 for a full day session I'm not tipping further, even though I love my tattooists.

They make my monthly salary in a week!!

Outline is worst as it’s a sharp pain, once that’s over it’s easier and quite relaxing often.

I found it far worse on fleshier areas of the body e.g. inside of your upper arm - probably due to more nerves there so I suppose anywhere that hurts more when pinched there would be painful - I found it less painful on boney bits like elbows.

My wrist one was fine. It was a bit painful when the tattooist went over the vein in the middle, but it was very brief. The most painful tattoo I have was my ankel one. It was not fun.

Had it done wasn't as bad as I expected took about 15 minutes. Been told to clean cocoa butter and cling film for 4 days.

Thanks
