Or will it languish in the back of the cupboard?

I use mine a lot in the winter. Unlike a pan and a blender you don’t need to keep an eye on it and it makes no mess. So I can throw everything in and switch it on and go into my study to work at 10 and I have soup waiting for me when I feel like lunch at 12.30 or 1.00. I can’t forget about it. It is usually still warm enough that I don’t have to reheat it (but I don’t like boiling hot soups). Also it pours straight from the jug so DS can pour himself a bowl at 12, put the lid back on, then DH 5 mins later - neither of whom would bother if they had to blend it themselves and then put it in another saucepan and then wash everything up.

I also suspect it uses less energy than a hob.

I’m back with an update: I’m souper 😉 pleased with my ninja and have already tried some different recipes. I guess the success of the soup is more about the ingredients used but from an ease of use perspective it’s much much easier than using the hob and the soup is much smoother than I could manage with a stick blender.

@Carpediem15 the jug is heavy to the point they show you in the instructions how to support it with the other hand. However for me (I assume average strength and dexterity) it’s fine for a few seconds if single handed pouring.
It can get noisy on the smooth setting. It does pulses of blending intermittently usually preceded by a beep and then for the last minute it really goes for it with the the blending. I wouldn’t want to be on the phone and in the room for that last minute.
