Are employers doing anything about the rising costs?

I was talking to my DH that his job is starting to be on the brink of unaffordability. His take home pay (once you take commuting into consideration) is lower than our nursery bills. I've told him he should talk to his employer, their place of work is in a very awkward place to get to, and all of his colleagues are experiencing the same thing. He doesn't think they'll do anything about it. I think if they're smart they will, otherwise they're going

No. I’ve been offered 1% annual pay rise, and as I wfh -no option to work in office - all utilities costs, including gas, electricity, broadband, are mine to pay for.

We got 2% and one off £300 in April. It hasn’t touched the sides.
no idea if anything else is planned but we see loads of investment into inventory/ projects. A lot of it seems to be money wasted.
i’ve started charging my phone at work. I can wfh but choose to go into the office to save on bills.

My husbands employer is giving all employees, except the very top earners, £500 in this months wage. They are a big employer in our area.
