Just that, I'm very excited. I've been self employed for a very long time and I wanted a change.

Has anyone worked in one and want to give me some advice? Tips or anecdotes?

I'm so excited!!!! It's taken so long from interview to being accepted but I can't wait to start.

Not quite the same but I work with adult males who are on Probation, have either served a custodial or non-custodial sentence. Well done!

Many congratulations - you’ll be doing such good work. Best of luck with it.
I don’t know anyone in that profession but I’m a secondary school teacher so do work with teenagers. One of the lasting bits of advice I was given was that “it’s your job to love them. It’s easy with some and difficult with others, but find something about them to love - it’s your job”. I found it helpful over the years so thought I’d pass it on in case it’s useful to you too!

That's really interesting, how long have you been working in that career ? One thing I am really hoping to do is to give them the information to run a business and have a career after being in custody. Being self employed is the bomb for that

Just over a year in this post, worked as a Foster Carer for ten years previously. I think giving the individuals empathy and positive regard, despite the crime, which I hope I do! I genuinely care for them ( I’ve been told by my management) so I’m hoping that they sense that when I meet them.
