NC for this for obvious reasons

I have an indoor cat (by choice).

A few months ago she got fleas somehow. And ever since the house has been riddled with them and I can’t seem to get rid.

I hoover daily, have used flea bombs, flea shake n vac powder, flea lamps, even flea sprays. You name it I’ve tried it. But they seem to go for a few days then come back.

I am at my whits end with it and it’s costing me a fortune. I have carpets as I’m in rented from a housing association and I’m upstairs so can’t have laminate or wood floors in anywhere but the bathroom and kitchen.

I’ve already thrown out most of my DD (aged 8)s soft toys which was gutting for her as she plays with them loads. I’m changing our beds and hoovering the mattress every day. I can't afford to replace the carpets.

What else can I do? I can’t afford a pest controller and even if I could I’d have to move out for a few days I think and I have nowhere else to go.

Another vote for indorex and bravecto - that’s what’s worked for our dog

Stronghold or stronghold plus are effective spot on's , there has been a national shortage of some of these but some are available .
From vet or online supplier with a written prescription from vet.
Apply every 4 weeks exactly ,RIP spray is a good house one ,spray behind furniture ,concentrate on skirting board /edge of room area ,also spray this inside hoover canister after emptying and in your car - i think rip may only need to be applied once a year -good info on their website too.
Let cat move around house ,don't confine to one room -makes the product most effective ,fleas also live in the dander-fluff , hair ,dust on the floor these fleas need to bite the cat to receive a dose of the treatment.
A flea infestation can take 3 - 6 month to clear due to the flea life cycle .
Vibration from the hoover and you moving/moving things around can speed up the pupae stage -no products kill this stage ,also dishes of hot water placed around or steam from a cleaner may speed stage up too to hatch the fleas.
It is very stressful and frustrating but you will get on top of it , then stick to your 4 weekly treatment - vet products are safe to use 12 months of the year if you choose to do so, particularly as we head into autumn - a warm ,damp autumn often ramps up a flea infestation.
Don't use any supermarket /pet shop products ,they are a total waste of time.

Personally I wouldn't use bravecto. It had a bad neurological effect on our cat, she recovered but when I looked it up I found it was quite common.

Don't even try the Bob Martin spray. It's pointless. Indorex is good but we are struggling massively at the moment. I posted about it in The Litter Tray. Absolute nightmare. We used frontline - stupid mistake. Now they've taken hold big time.
