Hi I've recently signed up to a vinted account to buy and sell but I don't understand it. I've looked through the FAQ but still got a few questions if anyone can help?

Questions about buying....

So I've added things to my favourite and some sellers say you can add as a bundle, if I get a bundle price am I committed to buying?

When I click by now on a single item quite often it offers free post via evri? Is this right? How can it be free? There are paid postage options too.

If I choose delivery to a shop can I wait to collect until I've got a few deliveries there or do I have to get them as they arrive. How do I know when they are there?

Questions about selling....

How do I know what post to pick there seems to be about 10 options?

If I choose evri do I just print a label then drop it at my local shop? How do I let the buyer know I've posted it?

Can anyone advise thanks

Postage - t shirts dresses = select small package
Shoes, sweaters etc = medium
Coats, bulky items = large

When you send it, it depends what the recipient chooses for postage as to what you do.

When you've sold an item you will receive an email, then follow the instructions.

The recipient knows when you have posted it, vinted tell them. I always leave a message and tell the buyer anyway.

Vinted offer new sellers the chance to list their first item with free delivery (Vinted pickup the cost presumably) so hats why you'll come across some items with free Evri delivery - I've got some great bargains that was as often the postage costs as much as the item I want right buy these days.

-no you're not committed to buying bundles. You can cancel any order even after you've made a payment as long as its not been shipped.

-free post is an error made by the seller. They will either honor it and cover the cost out of the price of the item you've bought or cancel the sale and relist it with postage cost once they've realised their mistake.

-when you buy an item you will be updated when the item is shipped, in transit and ready to collect. You have a limited amount of time to collect the item (I think it's something like 5 days) so you could collect multiple items at once as long as they were purchased around the same time.

-you can offer multiple postage options, the buyer will then select which one they want to use or just select the one that suits you best. I like using evri.

-if you ship with evri vinted will send you the label to print and shipping instructions to follow. It's very straightforward. When you drop the item at the shop it's scanned and automatically updates on vinted with a tracking code. You can also take a photo of the receipt they give you and send it to the buyer.

It's really is quite straightforward once you get into it. Vinted does guide you through it all step by step.

My advice is to take lots of photos of your items when you list them, include any faults on used items. Take a photo of item packaged for your own records.

Iron clothes before you take photos.

Use Hashtags in your item description eg #lightweightjacket. They'll pick up people's searches.

Price items realistically but with room to accept offers.

Engage with your buyer, tell them when you'll be posting their purchase, be polite, apologise if its late etc. You'll get good feedback which helps future sales.

When you buy always make a lower offer 1st. You'll be amazed at how often they're accepted.

If you favourite items sellers will often then discount it.

Don't spend money on packaging. Use carrier bags turned inside out. As long as they're clean and well sealed they work really well.

It's really good, I've had some absolute bargains and I make around £50 a month selling DC old clothes, trainers etc.

I didn't know that, I always thought the seller had made a mistake. Good to know!

Thanks all I've made my first purchase ☺️

Is there a way to see a list of what you have bought?

Click on 'profile' then 'my orders'.

I love vinted and have sold a lot of things on there over the past 18 months. I have bought a few too. Only for me and my family I don't deal or anything.

Click on the bundle to get a price no obligation to buy.

I think the evri pricing things as 0.00 is a glitch. It says from 0.00 but when you click through it says the price (I think this is purchasing)

I offer as a seller yodel evri and Royal Mail. Evri is the best and my most used by Buyers. Vinted send you a Hermes label to print so you must have a printer.

Yodel you need a code to scan at a shop and they print the label.

Yodel and evri are tracked. Post office /rm you upload a pic of receipt. Post office is trick as pricing is more spurious.

Yes you can do a few drop offs at once but I try and keep on top and do it in a few days.

I upload items in batches of say 50 and most will sell within a week or so I just do a couple of trips. I have bundle discounts to help shift things and often the can get something for free by using the discount.

I bought some cheap dark grey mailing bags and some documents enclosed sticky wallets from eBay (and adhesive sticky wallet to put the address label in). So no faffing with tape etc.

Other things are three clear picture front back and label. No clutter/rubbish in background.

Low prices is key and depends on highly brand.

When the buyer receives it they click ok and you get paid then. If they don't collect for ages it can be annoying as you don't get the money. Also if RM sometimes they forget to set it a delivers as it's not tracked so you have to send a follow up message.

If some buys I message and say "thanks for your order I will post on xxx day". Most say ok no rush thank etc al very nice. I do try and dispatch next day if I can. I also send a message saying "posted". Also use a few colourful emojis to keep thing fun!
