Vinted - Inpost 24/7 locker help please

I've just sold an item on Vinted and the buyer has opted for Inpost 24/7 locker option. Unfortunately, I forgot to turn this off as it's not as handy as Evri, but I've chosen to honour the transaction as it's not the buyer's fault.

Downloaded the shipping label, but it just shows a QR code, not even the recipient's details. Is that right? It says I need to download the QR code, I don't need to print it off, but I don't want to send a label-less parcel with no information. Tried the website, but I'm none the wiser.

Can I just print the QR code anyway and write the recipient's name on it at least? It doesn't seem very user friendly to me!

Thank you in advance.

I'm having the same problem, just wondering if it all worked out by just scanning and putting the parcel in the box OP? Thank you! X

Hi @ItsAutumnThen .
It did in the end although the buyer didn't get a QR code in her notification and had to contact Inpost to provide a new one.

Thanks so much for your reply! I found out how to disable this option in the end because it turns out the correct sized slots always seem to be full anyway! X

Hi. Just did a search on 'InPost Locker' and this thread came up.
I've recently used this as an option when buying a bunch of stuff on Vinted, and not one thing has arrived! Apparently the whole lot will be cancelled if not delivered by October 11th, which is quite a big window!
I would never choose this option again - is it known to be unreliable, or have I just been unlucky? Confused

tectonicplates · 21/09/2022 20:27

There's apparently been quite a problem going on with those lockers recently - lots of people have found that locker after locker is full, caused by the fact that they're not being emptied. So the chances are that your parcels are still sitting in those lockers, waiting to be collected...

tectonicplates · 21/09/2022 20:27

Apparently the problem was caused by the fact that both Vinted and Ebay got some kind of contract with them, so there's been a sudden surge in demand that Inpost can't cope with.

mycatisannoying · 21/09/2022 21:00

Ok, thanks both.

YorkshireTeaCup · 21/09/2022 21:02

Yeah, this is a pain. I just bought something off vinted and my seller has had to cancel the sale because all the inpost lockers are full, so they can relist with alternative postage options. Such a faff.

Dziuli · 24/09/2022 21:10

I had the same issue. Unfortunately they lost my two parcels.
The inpost used to be great for me. But of 2weeks back 1st time i received those qr codes saying just to scan and put parcel like that.. Which i did double check on inpost website that they do labeless parcels..

zeromango · 24/09/2022 21:23

Ugh for the first time I've just had a QR code and no label, but figured it'd be okay - every single parcel has thankfully been sent apart from the one where the courier prints it for you. It's in the ether somewhere and sadly I think it'll get lost. Ive now turned off inPost for all my stuff because they're having massive issues right now. Thankfully me and the buyer will be compensated (well that's what they've said!) but it's all a total faff. It was a great system up until recently.

I had this issue and I was so confused. I then saw an inpost courier emptying the lockes and I asked him. He said you just scan it pop it in the locker and it displays another QR code that you scan with your phone and it send you the receipt like that.
Then when the courier comes to empty the lockers he uses a device which prints off labels for each parcel as he takes them out of the locker. They know which parcel is in each locker.
Hope that helps

This exactly

I sell a lot on vinted and I have just taken this option of my items for sale. It's an absolute PITA Easy if lockers available but had to make a journey 6 times as always full. In the end had to cancel the sale.

waffleyversatile1 · 24/09/2022 23:30

Also doesn't help that vinted heavily promote this

Claudya · 25/09/2022 13:42

I usually use Evri but I wanted to try InPost as it was close & seemed easy to use with the buggy. It was also same price as Evri.

Now I have 4 parcels blocked/ haven’t updated since the 15th of Sept and 2 other orders were cancelled (because there was no space) so I had to re-buy my stuff with Evri. I absolutely regret choosing this option.

As a buyer on Vinted this really upsets me as I don’t want the stuff to be lost.

Hiya looking for some help please with vinted postage as a seller.
I’ve sold a couple of items where yodel direct has been selected. One was easy to send, showed barcode on the email to the shop, they scanned and printed label and gave me a receipt. However the other has come through with a barcode but layout is different and having double checked in 3 different shops, they say they can’t scan the code and what I’ve received is a label that I need to print.( Yet the instructions on both emails say I can take along the code for the shop to scan and print)? I don’t understand the difference between the 2 yodel options. I checked yodel website and says for them to print should receive a PS code under barcode which I did for the first sale which worked fine but the other yodel postage email received has a longer number.
I’d rather be label less and deselect anything that requires me to print as my printer plays up. Means I have to wait for other half to go into work or get to a library. Can anyone help please. Seems that evri option I have to print too? Also if shop can’t scan the code(once I’ve added it to the parcel) how does it get tracked? All
options seem to say tracked apart from Royal Mail maybe.

also re ‘favourites’ im new to vinted ….I’ve had items on the site only a few days with some sales and offers. I’ve had lots of favourites on items. Do these usually come to fruition in the end (for want of another word )and buyers wanting to see if gets reduced maybe or see what else comes on before choosing. or as a buyer, are items marked favourite if you purely just like it whilst scrolling through with no intention of buying. Personally I think I would only favourite if I wanted to keep eye on something …just wondered what us vinted users tend to do….sorry to ramble!!

i've cancelled a sale this morning as my gut said it wasn't right.

Sold a bag, not a cheap one, couple of hundred. Seller goes for QR Code with no address. I don't trust this method now at all, willing to chance for a £5 shirt but not a few hundred pounds item.
Messaged buyer, who has no feedback, one of those letters and numbers usernames and say 'look, sorry, I'll cancel this, can you chose Royal Mail instead and I'll meet you halfway with postage'. Nothing, the person who was answering instantly has suddenly gone radio silent.

Cancelled and resisted as RM Only. buyer has vanished. Can't help but feel I avoided a con here.

I can't work out what the con would be? Once the item is sent you'd be covered surely?

Me either but it didn’t feel right. The random letters and numbers username tends to be a bit of a giveaway that something isn’t right and the fact they suddenly stopped responding when they had been instant to reply before.
Just didn’t sit right.

I,be tried to get my parcel at the I post locker for vintwd but it said wrong detail,a I entered my mobile number but don,to know how to scan the QR,please help me

Gemnic22 · 18/09/2023 20:19

You don't print anything with inpost or have to attach a label to the parcel. You scan the QR at the inpost screen, a locker opens, you put the parcel in and shut the door. The locker will be linked to the QR code and they'll do the rest. Rest assured, your item will get to where it's meant to go - I've done it successfully!

IWasFunBeforeMum · 18/09/2023 20:25

You simply scan that qr code at the locker screen and a locker will pop open.

GeorgeBeckett · 18/09/2023 20:37

I love the InPost lockers. You scan the code and pop your parcel in, no faffing about printing. At the other end you scan the code and the magic door opens for your little parcel. No queueing and I can go anytime of the day or night. It's like wizardry. But it only stays for 72h so not a good option if you're going away.

FrangipaniBlue · 18/09/2023 22:24

Bloody hate these things.

I've tried for a week to send 2 Vinted parcels, both places near me all lockers are full every time I've been!!!!!
