Job that pays £10K after tax working one day a week…

Is there such a thing?
I work Tuesday to Thursday as a Quality Auditor in the chemical industry. I would like to work Friday for a pretty easy job (even customer service) that pays £10k after tax (maybe wishful thinking)
what can I do? I was thinking maybe a checker for science work etc. I am not sure. Any ideas on what I could do?

Only Fans? You could just do your feet and keep (some!) morals! Looks at my hooves sadly

bananainpjs · 23/08/2022 22:24

Sorry, it is £10K a year!!

I meant £10K a year…I want £10K extra income. I am unable to increase my hours.

So you're looking for an easy customer service job that pays £35 an hour?

Shouldn't be too hard. Following the thread for suggestions 😁

LBOCS2 · 23/08/2022 22:34

10k a year for one day a week is the equivalent of a role paying £50k so it's unlikely that it's unskilled work.

Could you not just increase your days at work?

LBOCS2 · 23/08/2022 22:34

Sorry, just realised you've answered that.

Depending on what your qualifications are, could you provide cosmetic safety assessments for small businesses such as soap and cosmetic makers?

bananainpjs · 23/08/2022 22:41

Yes I know sounds ludicrous but you never know, someone might come along and give me a great suggestion on a side hustle or something!

I don’t have qualifications, I worked myself up the ladder to an auditor. I’ll look into this, thank you!

Yes it's possible but generally get that salary for 5 days a week then go part time.

Ie accountant, move into say company secretary work, do it one day a week for different companies.

You need something that specialised but not needed every day in a company.

Or be a non-exec director!

I’d like to earn £50kpa after tax, just working Tuesday morning. Any ideas anyone?

AmberGer · 24/08/2022 09:41

I work 2 days a week, Saturday and Sunday 12 hour shifts and before tax I earn just over 15k. It's only in a warehouse. Don't need any qualifications.

That’s quite different to what op is asking. You’re doing very long days for 7.5k a year for one day, BEFORE tax. Op is asking for one day a week for 10k AFTER tax which is a pre tax full time salary of 60-70k and wants an easy job, mentioning customer service as an example. Never going to happen. If she finds it and shares on here then she’s perhaps solved many people money problems though!

AmberGer · 24/08/2022 10:17

A job agency could probably find a job for one day a week but I doubt it would be 10k salary after tax maybe £12-£15 per hour.

I was trying to show how difficult it would be to achieve that amount without qualifications. I work weekends, long hours with shift allowance included and still don't earn that.

Ah yes I see. You’re right

I do freelance technical writing in a very niche industry and earn that sort of thing (pro rata). The particular thing I do cannot be done by AI, and I have lots of other skills my client can call on too.

Web design, being a good VA or OBM, particularly in particular technical niches or with particular skills that people hate like Zapier or Keap/Convertkit or whatever it is in your industry.

Aah stupid typos! £80k

@bananainpjs You could become an accountant for @passport123

Speak to Matt Hancock MP, he has a similarly paid nice little earner on the side from his main job. Maybe several 9f them. Who knows? Someone evidently thinks he's worth it.

girlmom21 · 23/08/2022 18:07

She's clearly after something for 10k a year

Onlyfans?

newnamethanks · 25/05/2023 09:27

Oh no Goodie, I now have a worrying mental image of Matt Hancock and Only Fans. I hope he's never heard of it as I understand he's very keen on a nice little earner.

Spendonsend · 25/05/2023 09:43

Would it tip you over any tax thresholds?

Your tax free allowance will all come out of your main job

I dont know if i am looking for something thats going to have 20% or 40% plus national insurance contributions applied to it ?
