Can humans bring in fleas?

I have a dog. She's been regularly wormed and flea treated, despite this I've never actually seen a flea on her! We've been quite lucky she's never had them.

recently visited a relatives who has cats - indoor cats but have still managed to get fleas. I thought I had a flea on me but wasn't sure. Wasn't sure at the time and didn't think much of it.

Since the visit relative then said said cats were found to be riddled in fleas (despite being indoor cats). Cats had been treated but nothing done around the house like feel vacuuming or whatever. I've since noticed bites on Dd who was sat on the carpet.

do they transport from human clothing to dogs say if we had them on us and came home? Our clothes are regularly changed and cleaned etc but it wouldn't have been straight away that day.

I have ordered some flea treatment for our dog, she's due to be done soon anyway. Will also give her a quick bath, not even sure if that helps if she has a new infestation?

but it makes me super paranoid. It brings back memories of my childhood. My mother had 8 cats, although she flea treated them she never cleaned much and it was just a continuous circle!! I was always covered in bloody bites. I've found that one dog is manageable!

We had someone come and visit our house once.
The next day they realised their cat had fleas.
In that visit they had transferred fleas to our pet free house.

Not good. I know someone who is pet free but moved into a house that had previously had animals, she had a right mare getting rid of them from carpets etc!

Another vote for Indorex.

Beaphar flea shampoo is also good for in between flea treatment.

If you can get your hands on a proper carpet cleaner too they're so handy.

Heaps of vacuuming and steaming daily/twice daily.

Essential oils like citronella, tea trea and neem oil also keep them at bay.

And don't forget to worm if you've seen fleas!

Thanks. I'll order some. Not seen a physical flea here - yet.

I've got a carpet cleaner so ideal.

I will have to pop out and get flea shampoo. We have some standard stuff from pets at home.

I'll try the other stuff too

I have some wormer tablets in the cupboard already so will do that too!

I'm hoping that it won't amount to anything though. I've not seen a flea but it could still be early days.

We had usual showers and clothes in wash a couple hours after getting back so hoping the risk was minimal.

I've hot washed dog bedding and hoovered around where the bed sits.

I get what you mean about being paranoid though! I saw a single flea on my puppy a fortnight ago and have been repeating the above like a madwoman every bloody day. Exhausting but haven't seen another flea (yet) 🤞🏼
