If you have one, esp if it is electric, where did you get it from?

Im looking at some on Wayfair and IKEA. The rest seems really overpriced….

I've bought two at different times for my parents.
Looked all over at rise and recliners and the prices were crazy but a friends daughter who works in a NH told me to check British heart foundation because, sadly, many people but them and don't last too long after so you can pick up nearly new.
One was ÂŁ150 the other ÂŁ200 both still going strong apart from cat damage.
Forget about recovering though, no one wants to touch them.

It’s a bit like the ex motability cars when buying a second hand car, isn’t it?
yes I can see how this could be a good choice.

If you don't mind second hand (have a look on Gumtree they are as new) and can get transport (they are heavy and only split in two so the seat and motor are bulky) you can save yourself ÂŁ1500 easy.
Plus they are made to be scrubbed so you've got peace of mind.
One of ours has a reading light, two usb chargers and the seat is a pressure cushion (waterproof) covered in fabric. I can only guess how much that cost new.
it's my favourite nap place, better than bed.

First you need to understand your budget for such a chair. I think it's better to save up a little for such a thing, but it will last a very long time, and it will also remain for your children. Often they can be fitted into any interior. I think my husband bought this recliner a few years ago, and it still looks great.

When we bought a rise and recliner electric chair for my Dad we went to a specialist mobility shop (which had been recommended to us). We were in the shop for nearly two hours. They asked him about his condition, took his leg/back measurements and got him to try a number of different types of chairs. They also talked to him about different controls and features. We considered buying him a second-hand chair but in the end we bought a new chair and they delivered it the following day. They did not try to sell him features he did not need. My Dad has had the chair for four years and he loves it. It provides him with the right levels of comfort and support to help him manage his mobility issues. My Dad sits in the chair for long periods of time every day and I think it was worth it.

However, if I was just buying a chair for me, I would buy second hand.
