Please recommend an induction safe slow cooker

I feel it is time to become a proper MNer and acquire a slow cooker. It needs to be medium sized, so for 4, must have a timer and I would like to be able to brown on the induction hob first.

Google John Lewis.

That's not a recommendation though is it?
I can't see anything on JL that isn't massive anyway.

why would you put a slow cooker on the hob?

I don't think there is one. The sear and stew types are the only ones that you can put on the hob and I doubt they'd work with induction.

What about an instant pot (or similar)? My friend has one and you brown the meat and veg right in the pot first, no need to use the hob at all.

PS I don't know how keen a cook you are but I was given a slow cooker and hated it, much preferred making stuff in a normal pot on the hob or oven.

I'm getting a Wonderbag to allow me to heat stuff up on the hob and then slow cook in the bag with no power. Hopefully that will work well for winter!

You'd still need to bring food to a boil on the hob so I doubt you'd save any energy v. a conventional slow cooker.

I am a very keen and capable cook and love my slow cookers!
I have two: a smaller one where the pan can be used on the hob for browning and a larger crockpot so have to brown in a different pan & transfer.
I can honestly say it's no big deal, so I wouldn't restrict yourself to finding one with a pan than works on the induction hob. The most important thing is that it is the right size/spec for what you need.
My advice would also be to to look for one with multiple heat settings.

I’ve got this one This one from Lakeland. You can also get it in a smaller size. We are a family of 4 though and I don’t think you’d want smaller. I use it on my induction hob. Super easy to clean too.

Thanks all

The Lakeland one looks good - except I would need the small one which weirdly isn't induction friendly.

I was looking for something I could brown in, but I may have to let that go.

The instantpot is interesting...looks bulky even in the small size...I am looking for something to use for 3 people.

Ideally I want something 4.5 litres. The Crock-pots seem to come in that size, but get a lot of negativity for getting chipped.
