Is there anywhere that you can easily find 'old' ingredients in branded food products

Such as Cadbury's chocolate or mr Kipling products. Just curious to compare todays recipes to the older ones.

And sizes....

The only one I know for sure is Tesco Finest sausages, which were 97% meat and are now 90% plus bamboo fibre. Bleugh.

What is bamboo fibre ha! Im really not enjoying modern day cadburys and fancied checking up on the ingredient differences to what I used to like and what is in todays one

Wow OP I have also thought of doing this. It might be worth comparing our Cadbury to Australian Cadbury which is heavily sold in B and M and I think tastes better than ours

Australian Cadbury chocolate bars are enormous. Make ours looks pitiful.

Wombat27A · 19/08/2022 21:59

Tony Chocolonely tastes like Cadbury's did...

Vintagechocolateguy on Instagram is an account of old forgotten chocolate bars, pizza drinks and crisps. Loads of limited edition flavours. He has some pictures of the back of the packaging with the ingredients listed.

I bought some Irish Dairy Milk off eBay Following a recommendation on here and would recommend it.

Not sure if it's just because it's still shaped in proper square blocks but it tasted so much better and more like it used to.

RooniIWazlib · 19/08/2022 22:17

I can only eat Australian Cadbury now. I hate the greasy British bars.

Hiphophippityskip1 · 19/08/2022 22:24

Yep for sure irish cadbury chocolate is much smoother and creamier and melts perfectly in your mouth! And we have more varieties and flavours too!

Trivester · 20/08/2022 08:27

I’m Irish and can’t bear cadburys anything anymore. I dread to think what you’re eating in the UK if the Irish one is better.

sallowsunflower · 20/08/2022 10:40

I've never had it @Trivester but I do know the cadburys in England is not great for me now. I mean don't get me wrong I'll force some chocolate buttons down on a day I feel like chocolate but I know this isn't the chocolate I used to eat. Feels old

Last time I opened a bar of Cadbury's chocolate the smell made me feel sick.

I go to B&M every week, off to check their Australian Cadbury's. If seen it stocked but hadn't checked the ingredient list.
