Is it worth buying? Is there anything remotely similar out there?

I've got one and am not that impressed, it's fascinating to see it work but the curls don't hold, my hair is just past my shoulders with a very slight wave and the curls lasted less than 30 minutes.

The hairdryer itself is OK, nothing amazing, I bought it because my hair is falling out and I wanted to treat any new regrowth as gently as I could but it's no better than a standard hairdryer on cool.

I do quite like the paddle brush attachment for drying dd's very long hair.

It's certainly not a terrible product but vastly overpriced.

Thank you @SunflowerSmith I keep looking at (cheaper) alternatives but get drawn because it’s the only one that curls the hair round the barrel itself!
I really appreciate you posting this! I’ll keeping looking as my hair sounds similar to yours.

I absolutely love mine and couldn't be without it. But as I always say, I think their marketing is the problem. WHat it does is that it will give you loose curls, waves, volume. My hair is fine and limp and with airwrap, it's glossy and bouncy. And the loose curls in my hair stay very nicely until next wash.
But it's not that great if you're looking for tight corkscrew curls, so that's why many people are disappointed.

Ive just bought one for my Dd and I to share. So far, I’ve only tried the flyaway attachment and that did work. Like you, I have very thin hair but also have a weave system on top so interests to see how it will work with that. Taking it on hols to test out and will report back.

I love the smoothing brush attachment. I have long hair and I had to buy longer barrels for the curling attachment. It’s great at creating bouncy waves but is absolutely useless at creating defined curls. I have a Beachwaver S1 for curling.

I found it underwhelming and sent it back. I get the same if not better a result (of what I want at least) from rough drying my hair upside down and putting a loose curl in the lengths with my GHD's.

I also have the dyson hairdryer and hated that even more so perhaps they just aren't for me and I need to stop falling for marketing hype.

I have hair that fell out after having covid. It's now thin hair and I love my Dyson air wrap.
It gives volume but not curls. The fly a way smoother attachment is wonderful if you don't have time to style. It turns frizzy hair sleek and can be used on dry hair.

I have a Dyson hairdryer that I love. I wanted to love the Airwrap but it dried out my hair as you wrap the ends around the barrels first. It also took ages and the curls didn't stay in my hair As a PP I did really rate the smoothing brush. If they sold that on its own I definitely would buy it. I returned mine. I'm still using my hairdryer, though, as is anyone who stays in my house. They all rate the dryer.

It's crest for big bouncy hair 80 style but not so good for ringlets.

It's also great for a sleek straight look

I like mine a lot
Not had to much practice yet
Tho. Got in spring and it's been too hot for down hair all summer

blindedbythefright · 19/08/2022 08:27

I really like mine! It took a while to get to grips with and I wasn't sure at first, but with practice it gives the kind of bounce and volume I have not had in years (also gone through hair loss). I use the brush attachment for volume, the wider barrels for waves, and love the sleek brush too. It saves me a lot of time on styling now and I don't use anything else

@1Step2Step
The Beachwaver S1 looks brilliant (just watched you tube clip) but I can’t find it anywhere! Are you in the US?

I’m in Australia. I think they ship all over the world. I’m am absolutely hopeless with regular curling tongs but I really like using the rotating one. I find I can curl my hair within 10 mins.

Here’s another version that’s similar on Amazon. I picked mine up on sale - the S1 was about 70 quid. The air wrap I still use to smooth my hair after I wash it. Or if I want it big and bouncy.
