GP surgery staff question.

Do patients bring you things like boxes of biscuits or chocolates? For the staff at the surgery to share?

If so, do a lot do it or is it rare?

Do you like it or is it something you'd rather people don't do for whatever reason?

Thanks.

Patients and families do bring boxes of biscuits or chocolates and everyone is very grateful.

Not a GP surgery but a hospital department. We do get chocolates and biscuits occasionally from grateful patients. Either as a department or sometimes individually. It's quite rare and we are used to being yelled at by the general public so it's a nice treat IMO. It's nice to feel appreciated.

I took boxes of biscuits when I had my covid vaccinations with a thank you card
I don't care if people my family think I'm weird, it's nice to acknowledge people's hard work

I used to work in a busy doctors surgery where we would get biscuits and chocolates especially at Christmas. All of the staff would love this and it was nice to feel appreciated. 😊

We get quite a lot of boxes of chocolates and biscuits, particularly at Christmas and they are very much appreciated. Any form of thanks is appreciated, to be honest.

We have a lady who likes to bring us all of her out of date cupboard items.

It's the thought that counts Confused

Crikey! Oh no, I wouldn't do that!

I'm thinking those tubes of luxury biscuits in a variety of flavours.

I thought they would like it but then I thought what if they don't accept gifts of food as general policy in case any have been tampered with, or maybe they get loads and they get wasted etc.

I didn't want to phone them and ask cos I want it to be a surprise.

I am massively overthinking this I just now realise 🤦

Yes at Christmas, tends to be more of a tradition with older patients.

On one of the really hot days last week, a lovely patient brought in a box of ice lollies to the surgery. Hugely appreciated!
