Hello
I have two boys (2 and 5 years old) and have just moved to the Horsham/Billingshurst area and I’m looking at activities to do with them during the remainder of the school holidays and on weekdays in the coming Autumn term for my youngest. We’re completely new to the area and don’t have friends or family nearby so if anyone can point me in the direction of play groups, local attractions, soft plays, etc etc that would be really appreciated!
Thank you for your time xx

My children used to love Fishers Farm Park in Wisborough Green.

It's not cheap, so a definite treat day out rather than somewhere to go regularly.

Thanks, that’s good to know xx

I second/third Fishers Farm - lovely day out.

And would like to add Southwater Country Park to the list of suggestions.

Welcome to West Sussex!

Fishers Farm
Southwater Country Park
Horsham Park is quite nice, has a big play area
Tilgate Park and Nature Centre in Crawley
Springboard Project in Horsham has a garden, sensory room, soft play.

Was also going to say fishers. Get annual passes

Another vote for Fishers. Washbrooks Farm is nice too, but quite a lot smaller. My two (8 and 4) still like both.

We're in Crawley but have recently started going swimming at the Pavilions in The Park. The leisure centre is nice, with a small soft play inside and a huge park outside. Swimming there is fairly cheap, too.

And in Crawley there's Tilgate, as a PP mentioned, which is lovely. The nature centre is brilliant and very reasonable (take a picnic, though as the cafe is expensive).

also Horsham park and pool, Tillgate Park with its little "zoo", and the good old seaside? Knepp Estate has some piggies, storks and other animals and a tree look out if they enjoy walking but they might be a bit young for that. Arundel has a nice boating lake and the castle....might have some activities for youngsters. Weald and Downland Museum and google the Amberly Chalk Pits museum.... Enjoy this beautiful area to bring up your kids!

There are some really lovely national trust properties around there. I like wakehurst, Sheffield park and Nymans in particular. Worth the membership fee.

Bluebell Railway is fab. I also love arundel castle, particularly when they have events on (I'm sure there are more this summer).

If you don't mind a drive Leeds Castle in Kent is about an hour from you - absolutely fabulous day out. You're reasonably near Hampton court palace too.

Chichester has a planetarium but the kids need to be 6 to go so one for the future. Chichester has some great Roman sites. Fishbourne Roman palace also not too far from you. Weald and downland is fab too.

Lots of these places do half term/holiday events regularly. Roman army week is usually on at half term at Fishbourne. Chichester also has a Roman week. You've just missed the loxwood joust but that's annual - put it on the calendar for next year! Arundel castle has regular events, the jousting week every July is amazing.

So much to do, it's a great part of the world to bring the kids up in :)
