Children's clothes

I'm looking to order some new clothes for DSD (11) and DSS (7). A few summer pieces and then going into autumn clothes.

My usual go to is H&M but I'm seriously unimpressed by the choice at the moment. Especially for DSD. She a young 11 but everything seems to be either too babyish or too old and I'm really struggling. What makes it harder is that she would rather stick pins in her eyes than choose clothes.

My budget is fairly limited but I am willing to pay a bit more for good choice.

They both need basic t shirts and underwear too.

Has anyone been impressed by both value, quality and selection anywhere recently?

My children are younger but asda is very good. I also buy asda for myself and find it lasts as well as M&S. obviously there’s M&S and they currently have a sale

I like Next or M&S for quality and value. Not sure about the range for an 11 year old though.

Next is definitely good for underwear and basic t-shirts though.

TU at Sainsbury's is also good imo.

Thanks all!

I'll check all these out. I've been using H&M for a good three years so I'm a bit nervous about ordering elsewhere. I do buy uniform from George though and have always been pleased with the quality.

I clothe mine with a mix of brands. Primark has been great for pants and a few t-shirts. My daughters are very slim in the waist and Next trousers/leggings & jeans are the only ones that fit. Fat face is great I usually get stuff in their outlet or sales, Ds7 likes their stuff as he isn’t into Minecraft and Star Wars which most clothes for his age are emblazoned with. M&S can have bits as does George. H&M are my regular go to but didn’t come away with much last visit. Is New look or River Island any good?

My son is 8 and I got a good quality hoodie from Tesco. Their joggers have been ok but I find joggers from anywhere wear through very quickly on the knees.

Honestly, the best stuff I get for my children is second hand from Vinted. I buy stuff from slightly better brands such as M&S, Boden, Joules, Next etc. but at supermarket prices.

Lindex is usually my favourite.

My kids are younger than their older range though. I like their younger kids clothes, not actually so keen on the pre teen / young teen stuff.

Shein
River Island do some good price stuff too

StrangeSchoolHours · 15/08/2022 21:26

Next for DD (nearly 11) here. I usually look through and save some I think she'll like to favourites and then offer her the choice. She won't sit and look through the website with me!

H&M is one of my go to places too, but I tend to order loads and return half of it as it is really hit or miss in the flesh.

La Redoute is another good low price option. They always have a discount code going on. Their stuff is a bit more grown up than some (eg subtle colours rather than brights) without being teenage. Takes a while to arrive though.

I usually get a few things from John Lewis (gave up on Next as their website drives me mad, keeps emptying my basket!) and maybe FatFace, Joules, Boden, Monsoon in the sale. M&S occasionally. Charity shops too.
