If there was a general election next week, how would you decide who to vote for?

Do you choose one stand-out policy that means the most to you, or do you go through all the policies and go with the party that ticks most boxes for you? Or if, like me, you're stuck in a two-horse-race constituency, do you vote for anybody except the party you DON'T want to get in?! I'm feeling completely disenfranchised at the moment and honestly don't know what I would do 😞

IF you're in a two horse consistency, and one of those parties is the one you don't want to get in, vote for the other party.

So first and foremost the Tories are not in contention for me, pretty much regardless. (I mean I suppose hypothetically if they suddenly morphed to a totally different party with all new people and an ethos of helping people over business, but that’s not going to happen, is it).

After that my joint first priorities are climate, and cost of living. Followed by education (especially SEND) and healthcare.

I live in a Tory safe seat though so in effect my vote never matters 😕

I'm in a Labour constituency which stayed Labour while surrounded by the so called Red Wall. I've always voted Labour and probably always will unless it was necessary to vote tactically to keep the Tories out. If undecided vote for the candidate with the best record locally .

Same here. Fucking depressing. But I live in hope that one day someone else might get a chance. We've had the same bloke for what feels like a hundred years 🙄

We seem to have always lived in safe Tory seats. I know my vote won’t make a difference, but I have nevertheless, always voted. I’d vote according to the main points of the manifesto and which of the manifesto seems most in tune with my beliefs, but really, there’s not much of what any of them say that I can get behind.

If I thought any candidate here had a chance of ousting the Tory bloke, I’d go for him or her now, but it’s not going to happen.

I live in a Tory safe seat so I will vote for the next possible party whoever that is. Anything to try and get them out.

djdkdkddkek · 15/08/2022 13:10

Doesn’t matter live in a labour stringhold

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 15/08/2022 13:10

My heart will want to vote Labour.

My head will see me vote tactically to remove the Tory bastards.

I’d have a read of the manifestos, read up on the candidates, give some thought to it and then vote for the Conservative one.
