Hi we are visiting Dublin next February for the first time from the UK.
Never been to Ireland so really excited to do a few days over there.
Can anyone recommend some nice places to visit/things to do?
Also reasonable priced places to eat ?
Thanks in advance

All the streets around Grafton Street are nice to stroll around. The Powerscourt Townhouse is a lovely place to browse through.

In February your weather won't be great, but you could take the Dart south to Bray and see the beautiful Killiney Bay. Go north to Howth if you want more sea views and seafood restaurants. If you fancy a bracing walk, try Dun Laoghaire pier. There are great views of the city and the mountains from the pier. The village of Dalkey is quaint and lovely (on the Dart line). Good food there too.

Agree with several other suggestions - there really is lots to see and enjoy, and nice places to eat.

If you like history, I recommend the museum at 14 Henrietta Street, where you can see 300 years of the history of one Georgian house.

Good grief we'll have poor OP standing on Malin Head contemplating chucking herself in at this rate.😀 ah no, I was just laughing at the Belfast response. Every city is what you make of it, but it does help to do the research beforehand.

Just to add to other poster's suggestions, if you're in the Grafton Street/St. Stephen's Green area, The Little Museum of Dublin is good too. Www.littlemuseum.ie

I'm from Dublin myself and did this museum tour yesterday, it was EXCELLENT. Only 10 euro too, the tour was fascinating and gave a really great insight into life in Dublin tenements in the 1900's. Highly recommended.

I'd second the Viking Splash tour for kids and/or the Dublinia museum. You can also do a horse and cart ride near St Stephens Green, lunch at Bewleys café if that's something you're into..I think there's a famine exhibition on too at the top of the shopping centre near St Stephen's Green too. Also agree DART to Bray stopping off at Dalkey. The Guinness Storehouse is good too though years since I've been to that.

It's a fab place and when I've been - with a very elderly relative years ago, or when working there as a student or bringing young DC alone..everyone seemed to fall over themselves to help. A few weeks back a bus driver stopped his bus when he saw me looking at a map and asked were we lost and could he help. An Irish businessman insisted I took his taxi once at the airport when alone with DC too. I've rarely had that level of active kindness from strangers in other places, I love the place.

If you're there a few days though maybe a trip further afield would be good too..Glendalough? Google day trips from Dublin maybe. The tourist info staff are lovely and helpful too, certainly at the office near Christchurch cathedral anyway.

Don't go to Belfast!!! Or do but another time.

Lots of great ideas here, Howth or the Bray head walk are both lovely - I would pick one to do since you are getting similar views of Dublin Bay, just from different ends.

The Natural History Museum aka Dead Zoo is a great old fashioned museum. I was there a few years ago and they were filming a TV show there, perfect setting since it is all beautiful and old. (please tell me they haven't changed it too much since reopening...)

Other walks that are quite light and fun are the Sugar loaf mountain, and the Hell Fire Club.

There is a new treetop walk in Avondale in Co Wicklow (1 hour drive) with a giant slide. Lovely walk, although the lines for the slide were too long for us.

Giants Causeway, although nowhere near Dublin, is amazing and like nothing else I have ever seen.

National Museum of Ireland is worth a visit too.
