Are the seagulls being more noisy than usual by you?

It's the third morning in a row that I've been woken up at 5am by the sodding wailing bastards. I swear they are more noisy than usual. They seem to be gathering in packs and flying over screeching.

I don't even live in a seaside town!

Is it just me? Or is there a reason why they would be more noisy?

August is when Herring Gulls fledge and there is a phenomenon called gull-duation where the adults get very excited about the chick's flying.

I live near the coast.

They're always quieter during July and August around here. They nest on the roofs of the school buildings behind our house and fight over the discarded foods from the students packed lunches. No students equals no fighting seagulls.

No more than usual. They're always noisy here. Mainly because daft Margaret two doors down throws chicken and ham and tiger bread out as well as seeds for the smaller birds. Its like a wildlife centre round here. Enough now, Margaret.

They were louder than usual mid this week!

Unusually noisy for a few weeks here (I wish they would learn semaphore, they have the wings for it), however the last day or so we have had a sea fret and (no idea if coincidental) they have quietened down

And off they go!!! Have just this minute started kicking off here.

The last few days here, they have been far more noisy. It's looking like their young are now flying, so wonder if they are encouraging them to bugger off now.

I'm at my MiLs and the seagulls have woken me most mornings at stupid o'clock. Except this morning. It is a seaside town though.

Yes, noisy creatures. The alarm calls at 5am are particularly annoying
