So on the final few days of a lovely two week camping holiday in our camper van.
Me dd 11 and dh.
We have been at this site since Wed and the people opposite have 3 dds one aged 4 but seems very young.
She has latched onto dd who loves little ones and is very kind but she is here from morning till night asking questions trying to go into the van and playing with dds pens and stuff.
Dd wants a bit of peace as do we but she persists.
This morning while we were trying to wake up with a cup of tea in the shade she came over and started chatting and when I asked what her Mum was doing she said sleeping 🤔
They leave tomorrow thank goodness and we Will have one last day of peace.
Don't need advice or anything just wanted a winge and hopefully some funny stories to.amuse me while I hide in my van 😜

Ah, this is the supposed joy of camping, lots of lovely new transient neighbours to be friends with.

We also have a campervan and when we’re parked on small sites and hanging around camp we tend to leave the side sliding door and rear hatch open when we aren’t sleeping in it, we just learned it’s what you do because other campervan owners - we have a Mazda Bongo - like to wander past and check out which kitchen conversion you have and whether you’ve upgraded the sleeping hatch etc. On two occasions we have returned to our van to find somebody’s kids inside helping themselves to our food and their parents’ lame ass was “oh, we assumed you wouldn’t mind as the door was open.”

Omg. You are kidding me?
Unbelievable.
We used to have a Bongo too. Lovely times in it.
Yes last night we did a bbq and I found a couple of old marshmallows in the cupboard and gave them to dd to.toast. the child pipes up. Can I have one and dd gave her 2 leaving her with just one herself.
It's annoying to share food and drink when u can't store much or get to the shops.

For future reference: take the offending intruder by the hand, ask where their parents are and walk them over. Politly tell intruder and parents. Tell intruder & parents that you are doing xyz now and that you are happy to receive visitors after X o'clock.

Rinse & repeat if necessary. They will be fine with this, I have been on both sides and its just part of camping.

"Sorry xxxx DD is having a rest today, where's your mum? Shall I take you back to your campervan?"

PeppaPigIsAnnoying · 12/08/2022 12:43

Can't you just move the van

StClare101 · 12/08/2022 13:15

Just send her back to her parents! Deliver her yourself if need be and say your DD has had enough.

Ledkr · 12/08/2022 14:31

It's ok. They leave tomorrow and we have a day left after.
Next year I'll put the windbreaks up and be antisocial 😊

You need to nip these things in the bud early.

March her back to her mother every single time. Otherwise you're basically providing free childcare.
