If you could live anywhere in the EU

which country would you choose and why?

Or if you live in the EU - where do you live and what’s good about it?

In about two years I will be in a position to maybe move and I wonder where in the EU would be good - I have some connection already to Italy and Belgium mainly, but I am wondering what other places I haven’t considered that might be lovely places to live.

Always wanted a house in France to live there part of the year but I’m just back from a two week holiday on a French campsite and I’m having a serious rethink…..

I think my ideal would be summers in northern France - Normandy or Brittany, and winters in Puglia, Italy or around Cadiz in southern Spain.

We live in Sweden. I love the gentle, calmness of Sweden and the fact that community is still seen as important.

I'm happy in the UK, but out of the rest of the EU I'd go for Denmark or Germany.

If only there was some kind of reciprocal arrangement where British people could just move and make a life anywhere in the EU, just because they wanted to.

No, it’s better this way, those who the EU countries want will be welcomed with open arms, and those who no-one wants have to make themselves desirable or stay at home.

This makes me want to move to Germany. I live in Scotland which in the main I love but we have worsening poverty, worsening educational attainment and an appalling healthcare system

Belgium - best food I have ever tasted!

We just spent a week in Madrid and I know we haven't lived there and sampled "real" life but it had such a good feel to it we all said we would go back in a flash.
Lots of open spaces that are well used especially in the evenings, fantastic food and cheap food shopping.
Amazing transport links, we were at the coast in Valencia in an hour and a half.
Downside is the heat and of course they have brought in a rule about air con being set to 27 which is still hot!
I would also like to live an hour or so south of Paris in the Fontainbleu area or south of France.

I live in Spain.

Love :

Work life balance
The sea
The mountains
Accessibility
Public transport
Socialist government
Healthcare (amazing !)

Hate

Spanish bureaucracy
Having to learn the language

Zero regrets for moving here
