I've lost 2.5 stone. Can't work out if it looks like I have! Pic attached

I've worked really hard to lose this weight and I still have a stone + to go, at least

So I decided to do a comparison photo today, using a pic from April and a pic from yesterday. I was expecting to see some incredible difference but err I don't?

Please tell me the small difference I can see makes it worth while carrying on

I've tried to match the perspective of the first pic but it's tricky

ChickenChop · 12/08/2022 08:05

@Happyhappyday ha I very much doubt that!

You can definitely see it. I’ve lost two stone over the last few months - from a much higher number than you though. Over 16 stone to 14 stone. Like you I couldn’t see it for ages. But I realise now it’s gone from my face and neck, shoulders, arms and legs. And boobs. Not so much around the middle yet.

I’ve gone from a size 22 to an 18.

I also realised that I was wearing a lot of my size 22 clothes because they still fit and they were really hiding how much I’d lost.

Hm2020 · 12/08/2022 08:21

i can totally see it I’ve lost a bit less but feel my weight doesn’t sit the same on me as it did a few years ago it’s so hard but honestly you look really good. Can definitely see a big loss.

TaureanGemini · 12/08/2022 08:26

I can definitely see a difference. Well done, you look fab.

I promise you I am not fishing here. I hate those threads

I genuinely cannot see 2.5 stone. I thought it would be more .. dramatic?

On the flip side of this, when I put on 2st I had no idea. I knew my jeans were a bit tighter but they still fit without fighting to get into them, so I assumed maybe half a stone.

Got the shock of my life when I finally got on the scales Grin

I've lost the 2st again and still wear the same jeans Confused

pimlicoanna · 12/08/2022 08:35

I think it would be easier to see a difference if you were wearing the same clothes in both pictures. The two outfits are totally different shapes.

Drivebye · 12/08/2022 08:38

You've done really well OP and you can see it. The outfits are helping you here. It's obvious you lost a lot from around your middle, the most important place. Remember - as you get smaller the weight loss will be more noticeable so you'll get more 'reward' from losing from a lower starting point (although it gets harder to lose!). Good luck!

Q1w2e3 · 12/08/2022 08:39

Huge difference, especially in the latest pic. You look amazing - congratulations!

I’m jealous of how you carry weight. I’m your height and 11 stone and look much bigger then your 13 stone pic.

SuperCamp · 12/08/2022 08:49

Yes, there is a big difference OP, to your legs and especially, and crucially, round your middle. Totally different body shape.

However you look and want to look, for our ongoing health keeping fat off our waists as we get older, if we can and if we want to, is beneficial.

I lost 3 stone, down to 10, and I feel so much better. I did it by adjusting to sustainable healthier eating habits and in 18m have not put any back on, and feel no hardship.

You have done really well OP, my advice would be to lose your last stone in a way that establishes every day healthier eating, rather than ‘a diet’, even if that means the rate of loss slows a bit.

But then we all have to approach it in a way that fits our lifestyle, personality, body etc, and no size fits all!

Well done and good luck.

ChickenChop · 12/08/2022 09:15

@SuperCamp I'd really agree with you there. Whenever I feel my progress is stupidly slow, I think about how this has got to be sustainable for life .. I've spent my whole life yo yo-ing and being unable to maintain.

I turned 50 (ugh) last year and I've decided that by the time I turn 51 in November, I'll have lost a total of 4 stone but I think another stone off is going to be about right for me

I've had to tweak my food intake recently to get things moving again - realised I was eating maintenance calories - not that I count them. So I cut out my 30g of nuts a day and reduced my cheese by a third and things started moving once more

It's an ongoing process
