Hi, looking for a second hand car and had a bit of a curveball thrown into the mix. Been told of a Citeron Belingo in good condition/low mileage etc. Now thinking of day trips out and leisure time (not camping in it).
Just interested in anyone's experience of them. Thanks

I have the Peugeot partner ( exactly the same vehicle with a different badge) I love it. Mines 10 years old but going strong, very economical to run I use it for trips out with the kids and the dog. Lots of space and storage .

My parents have one. My dad loves it - bizarrely it's become his dream car, and he's on his third! It's incredibly practical and some models have some nice touches like a split boot (so you can just open the top half, for instance, as the whole boot lid is very long and needs more space to open than many hatchbacks). At the end of the day, it's a comfy van with seats, but definitely practical for kids. We borrowed it to go on holiday in once (family of 5) and I came back after a week in the Scottish highlands really liking it a lot. We would have actually bought it off him at one point when he was intending to sell. Particularly the sliding doors were great for younger kids. The kids car seats always seemed to fit well too. It doesn't feel luxurious in any way, and has an upright "van like" driving position, but you get used to that, and if you want a practical, family car its actually a pretty good choice.

I had one for years, so later models might be different. Obviously they are not pretty. Back in the day mine also had a really huge turning circle compared to the vehicle size. And it was very underpowered.

But those were the only real disadvantages. The ratio of inside capacity to body length and width was fab - much better than lots of SUV types which seem all bodywork and no inside room. Great visibility so a dream to park. At the time I had it, it was the cheapest estate model by some way - not sure if that's changed. I would absolutely have one again.

I used to have one. It was great. Really practical, not too expensive to repair, was still going strong a few years after i sold it, and it had fairly high mileage at that point.
