Fed up with the hot weather

I don’t mean to be a spoilsport but I really am getting fed up with these temperatures, I say that as though there is a thermostat somewhere that I can just go and turn down the temperature on - I wish!

I love a bit of sun and good weather and of course a bit of warmth, but there is nothing to enjoy about being constantly hot, stinking and sweaty.

anyone else? Hurry up winter!

I agree but it’s just the intensity of the heat that is the killer for me!

I don’t think it is that warm. If you call this intense, how would you rate 50 degrees?

I guess everybody’s temperature comfortableness thresholds are different!

for me I like a bit of heat but I absolutely hate this draining sticky heat.

im fine with anything up to about 20 degrees

Then in the winter I’ll be moaning it’s too cold 🥶

20 degrees is barely normal room temperature.

@KatharineofAragon I'm in Edinburgh and it's boiling today!

I've had enough. Everything feels gross, dirty, sticky and dusty. Dd wanted to sit under a teee in the park with lunch today but I didn't fancy sitting on the sticky grass that hasn't seen rain in weeks 🤮🤢

I’ve been spending a lot of time at the cinema (air con) and have washed all my winter cardigans, jumpers, throws and scarves so I am all set for the day when I am not sitting in a puddle of my own sweat.

I don’t want to be a whinge-bucket, as it is nice to have warm weather, but I’d like it so it’s pleasant to pop out for the afternoon, rather than dashing to walk the dog and get all my jobs done by 10 when I start sweating profusely. It’s too hot here for dogs and children to play in the garden for much of the day, so I am struggling a bit for summer holiday entertainment; day trips out to NT properties are a non-starter due to heat and plagues of wasps that descend every time you pop open a Tupperware box to eat your picnic.

I'm pregnant and my ankles really aren't happy with me sitting at my computer all day. I'm really envious of people who enjoy this weather. I just feel really headachey and tired.

I've never been a fan of summer, autumn can't come fast enough

Hello,

This is my first time using this website. I totally agree with many of the other members regarding this terrible heat and dry spell. I live in East Anglia, one of the driest parts of the country and am sick to death of this ongoing hot and dry spell.

Yesterday, we came home from the local shops through many acres of fields of dead crops due to the lack of water. A terrible sight indeed!

However, in our local town. We have one of those "hand car washes" still running at full pelt, washing in my opinion clean cars and wasting thousands of gallons of water. It is also interesting to observe that every time we have a hot spell the newspapers print images of bikini clad beauties frolocking in the sea but never portray a poor mum sweating over a hot cooker trying her best to cook a meal for her family.

Looking forward alongside many others to a lovely cool and rainy Autumn.

I have loved the hot weather here, but Pennine hot weather is rather different to London hot weather.

We desperately need rain, and I agree with @Wopr that the car washed need to temporarily stop. We live in an area with lots of puddles reservoirs and they are depressingly low.

What are these cool, crisp autumnal days people speak of? The usual reality is damp and fog.

September is a lovely month. There's a quality of light in the air that I love, and the sunlight is mellow and golden.

For me damp, dank November, when the clocks have just gone back, the days are shortening, the weather grey and misty with some days feeling like perpetual twilight and it never gets properly light, is unparalleled as my most detested month on the calendar. I start to revive with the lengthening daylight in late January.
