Cheap baby shoes

prettyprinceofpartiez · 10/08/2022 09:01

So I very much want to keep my 1.5 year old in decent, quality shoes from Clark's but the costs are ramping up now!

I want to have him in a main Clark's pair and then a cheap backup pair for when we've misplaced them or left them at nursery etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations for cheap baby shoes that aren't going to be horrendous for him on the one off occasion?

As you can tell I'm a mildly anxious FTM!

For reference his current size is 3G

My DS generally wears shoes from Asda or Sainsbury's on a day to day basis.

TBH I'm not sure the Clarks quality thing exists anymore. Unless you are able to spend ££££, they are likely all made in the same way with possibly a difference in materials, but in terms of support for feet, I'm not sure these days.

I've always rated m&s for kids shoes

Another vote here for Marks & Spencer's, not the very cheapest but cheaper than clarks, and I think really good quality. Or could you get to a Clarks outlet shop?

I agree with pp about how poor Clark's shoes have got. I loyally (stupidly?) kept buying Clark's for DC1. I think he had five pairs, but as he started walking, and then running he wore through the leather of pairs three and four before he'd even grown out of them so I don't waste my money any more.

The only benefit I can see is the fitting advice in store, but now I feel able to judge that for myself. I know decent footwear is important but I really can't see any difference.

We now have mostly had shoes from Next and Sainsbury's and been quite happy with the quality and value.

I used to buy cheap second hand pairs for spares. At that size many will be in really good condition as they grow out of them so quickly.
