Seeing someone in the house when no ones there / hallucinations

Sometimes I think I see things out of the corner of my eye but today I saw a figure in my house about 3 metres directly in front of me walk from the hall into the kitchen. Black solid walking. Thought it was my dh but when I followed into the kitchen no one was there, nor in the loo which is two only rooms off the living room. Didnt feel woo or scared but on reflection the figure was entirely black and solid.

Just before this I thought I saw someone waiting to run across the road ( in a 40 limit in the near distance) blinked and they wasnt there.

I dont feel weird but it was a very real and detailed hallucination. I think I have a UTI. At what point do you worry? I went through a spate at uni of seeing people at the side of the road while driving back from night shifts while studying during the day. But they was clearly shapes that my tired brain was trying to make sense of in the dark ( bushes / bins)

This was right in front of me. I can think it was from.a blach hoody on the back of a chair by the hall that triggered a brain fart, but this figure was over 6 foot in front of the chair so relatively 3 times bigger. So a big brain fart in comparison.

If you're not overtired or doing drugs, then you need either a priest or a furniture van.

I'm a bit worried its the start of early onset dementia, but so far it's a one off.

Has anything else happened in your house? Has anyone you live with seen or felt anything?

Go to your GP and explain that you are hallucinating. Quite a worrying symptom so best not to ignore.

IncessantNameChanger · 09/08/2022 17:37

No just me. It's a very uneventful house.

I have had woo things in other houses but this isnt a woo kind of house.

Ignore the woo brigade, op. If you’re seeing things in different places, and have been for a while, it’s obviously not a ghosty.

Make an appointment with your GP, and get your eyes tested. There are lots of things that can cause hallucinations, our brains are very good at filling in the blanks when we don’t have all the information. Maybe don’t drive until the gp has told you it’s safe to do so.

IncompleteSenten · 09/08/2022 17:38

Make an appointment with your gp. You need a check up.

SendARavenToRiverRun · 09/08/2022 17:39

I'm sure a UTI can cause confusion and worsening dementia in elderly patients. I wonder if that could be the cause in you?

OppsUpsSide · 09/08/2022 17:39

This can happen to me when I am stressed

OhTheLeetleHandsAndFeetle · 09/08/2022 17:45

Go to your GP. Also, you might want to read up on the effects of infrasound and have someone check out equipment like your fridge, but if this has happened in different locations I’d be betting it’s something internal not external. Are you sleeping ok? When I’m tired I have occasional ‘blink and it’s gone’ moments - thought someone was sitting in an armchair the other day but it was a bag! (As a confirmed sceptic it gave me quite a start!)

It’s not ghosts. It’s some sort of visual disturbance that needs a medical investigation (or it’s a problem for an electrician).

Christin3 · 09/08/2022 17:49

You need immediate medical attention.

This isn't normal and may be indicative of a bigger problem.

Fortuny · 09/08/2022 17:49

Gas leak?

mrsbyers · 09/08/2022 17:51

If you have a UTI and it’s advanced then this could be the cause , my dad had awful delirium recently with one

QuebecBagnet · 09/08/2022 17:57

Dd goes through stages of this happening. She says she knows they’re not real but that they seem very real. I took her to the GP, scared she was going to get a schizophrenia diagnosis or something. The GP said it was far more likely to be anxiety. Do you feel anxious about anything? But definitely go and get seen.

ValerieDoonican · 09/08/2022 18:03

I get this when I am very sleep deprived - eg when babies were tiny.

ValerieDoonican · 09/08/2022 18:04

But yeah, could definitely be linked to the UTI, so if you haven't had the right treatment prescribed from a sample, get this done ASAP. And rest!

IncessantNameChanger · 09/08/2022 21:23

Not really any more anxious than normal. I’m a bit worried about my mum as she is waiting on a diagnosis of a degenerative condition and she’s she is getting worse but I’m coming round to the conclusion it’s. Within her power not mine to speed things up.

can only think ts the uti but I’ve had more painful episodes

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 09/08/2022 21:27

Pain doesn't indicate how severe an infection is, but hallucinations do. Contact your GP in the morning and don't drive if you're still having them.
