Hey, can anyone recommend the best place to get a cheap new kitchen? IKEA? B&Q? Wickes?

Anywhere else? Thanks!

Going through lots of hassle with Wren at the moment! Reasonable prices but a real faff the way they install. Wouldn't use them again in a hurry.

We got our best quote at Wren. Very happy with the result and fitter (got our own, not theirs) said it was no problem to install.

Their design service was really good. Maybe the better approach is to get your own fitter..

We got a really good deal from IKEA.

ednatheevilwitch · 08/08/2022 22:50

Howdens? They only sell to trade though so you would need a tradesperson to order for you.

We got ours from Ikea - cheapest for us when I costed it against others. Online planner was helpful, but the free online consultations were really good - worked with what I'd outlined and improved it with things I hadn't thought off.

DIY, but you have to design it yourself.

Never have a Wren kitchen, I’ve got one in my flat and it’s shite. The customer service set a new record low.

DIY Kitchens - have had 2 from them now and they are fab. Get a design from a local shop and take it there for them to match. Amazing price for good quality.

I've just got a magnet kitchen. We are fitting it ourself and had a really good deal with everything we've had!
Happy with the service too (few things needed replacing and it was no issue).

DIY Kitchens.
Yes you design it yourself - but you do anyway with any of the chains. And at least with DIY, there is an online planner, so you can try different combinations and layouts - as many as you want.

Once planned, their staff will offer suggestions and changes but are happy to go with whatever you want.
Their units come pre constructed so less work for your fitter and are very solid. And the majority of their units are in 500 mm increments so getting a good fit is easy.

I second Howdens or Stax but yes you'd need someone with an account to order for you.

I also bought a second hand one from gumtree a few years ago that's been excellent and only cost me £250 including van hire!

NeedToLeaveNow · 08/08/2022 23:59

Im also looking for a new kitchen and was going to go to WREN tomorrow 🙈

NeedToLeaveNow · 09/08/2022 00:03

I also need a new bathroom and new carpets and kitchen and bathroom flooring if anyone has any ideas
Sorry OP :)

AtrociousCircumstance · 09/08/2022 09:04

Thanks everyone! Will investigate the suggestions.
