Junction question

I'm travelling into this junction from the right. I want to continue straight over along the smaller road. My satnav says to go straight through the junction, but do the road markings indicate I should go left, right, then left again? It's three very tight turns.

What's your opinion?

No just turn left onto the smaller road. The road markings dont indicate left, right, left

This is my intended route.

One left turn roughly where the red patch is.

You can see where other cars have crossed the lines. This is the path I would probably take

That could be from cars travelling L-R (opposite route to mine).

Cars travelling the opposite way to you would stop at the first set of double dashed lines, giving way to anyone already on the other side of them, then proceed to the next set of double dashed lines, and turn right once their was space. None of that negates how you would turn into that road.

It’s quite a confusing junction. I agree with you, the other posters and the Sat Nav, that going ‘straight over’ is correct. However, if as approaching the junction I saw a car doing the same from the other direction, I may well choose to go the ‘3-turn route’, just to provide greater deconfliction.

Being right is almost always a comfort after an accident. But sometimes, it’s more prudent to take the safest option, even if it’s not strictly necessary or correct.

Is that road definitely not one way you want to turn into?

I think I'd turn left then right.

girlmom21 · 08/08/2022 13:54

Then left again of course

It's definitely two-way, I drive back that way too.
