Where to move to with a baby (England)?

Hi everyone,

I'm having to move urgently with my 3 month old baby. I'm a single mum.

I'm looking for somewhere that would be affordable and family friendly.
Would be ideal if its not extremely far from London too.

I have no idea where to look, any ideas?

Thank you

Evesham? Not a city but big enough and cheap ish trains to London or Birmingham

It's nigh on impossible to find property in Evesham at the moment

I'd be looking West Midlands if I was you

The further West you go the more expensive it is generally. As you move the big hand round the clock it starts to get cheaper when you are past 11. The East side is where a lot of the development is going, up the M1 A1/M corridors. Personally I think Lincolnshire is good value at the moment, but that is at the limit of travel time. Leicester/Peterborough are possibles.

If OP is asking for inexpensive places this rules out Bristol, Oxford and Cambridge. Otherwise, why not go for Sandbanks, Burnham Market or Chipping Norton???

You need to define "affordable" in terms of rental or property purchase price as what's affordable to one isn't to another.
