How do you feel after eating a meal?

Been out to a pub with DD. Just the 2 of us as DH and DS were at a football game.

DD drove so I thought, I’ll have a glass of wine. Now, I haven’t been drunk in over 20 years, but partial to a beer or wine most nights. Just the one mind.

but tonight, it was my 1st wine in about 14 weeks, along with half a starter (one slice of garlic bread), and be main meal of salmon and new potatoes.

and i feel eurgh. Im not one who usually eats a big meal - I prefer beans on toast for tea! Im actually in bed feeling full and eurgh and that wine keeps repeating on me!

I do watch what i eat. No spicy food, nothing fatty as i jog on the the loo pretty quick after eating!

are you the same? Do you enjoy eating out as i dont, but I thought it would be nice to go tonight

On that amount of food and wine I’d feel absolutely fine and probably still a bit hungry

@LittleBearPad there used to be a time many many years ago that I could eat 3 courses, but the older i get, the more i dread going out for a neal!

@MrsDThomas feeling really full after a small meal can be a sign something isn't right, how do you feel after eating at home?

I cant eat huge meals. Never have. I avoid spicy meals, greasy as i do have IBS going on.

Totally depends on the day. Some days I can (and do) eat half a kilo of steak in one sitting along with sides and copious amounts of wine. Other days I can get halfway through a bowl of soup and just not be able to face more, or have a glass of wine and feel sick / get heartburn. Mostly is something in between. Presume is connected to fluctuations in hormones, general metabolic function etc.

If you have IBS then it seems likely connected to that, especially if you haven’t had wine in a while.
