Horrendous period pain- anyone use TENS?

As above really. Been suffering for decades with excruciating, heavy periods and recently seen devices marketed for period pain. Anyone tried these? Do they work?
Would a good old fashioned maternity TENS work better? It does feel like labour pains tbh! Like being sawn in half.

Currently suffering (due to go away on first day of first weeks holiday for 7 years as well just to top it off!) I usually use hw bottles, voltarol, Naproxen/paracetamol but only takes the edge off.
Been to GP years ago with stomach bleeding due to painkiller overuse trying to manage pain- she sent me to gynaecology who tried to ram a coil in and got annoyed when I went into cervical shock and couldn't tolerate it.

This was presented as the only option, have had following hospital appts repeatedly cancelled over last 4 years, currently on a list to go on a list due to the pandemic last time I phoned so no hope for help there-on my own with it.

Any advice gratefully received- I'll try anything! Solidarity to anyone else dealing with this.

Honesty, I just went on a pill that stops mine entirely. I get the odd twinge if I accidently take it too late but it's not enough to even bother with paracetamol.
It's not for everyone and theres always risks you need to balance with any medication but I found it life changing.
Mine is Cerelle.

EdHelpPls that sounds great! I can't take hormones unfortunately or I'd be all over that.

Have you tried Transexamic Acid from the GP to reduce the heavy bleeding? I’ve been getting this since I became perimenopausal and have found that it also helps the pain.

Taking ibuprofen regularly from the first sign of a period is also reputed to help with reducing heavy flow. But really I’d try and emphasise with the GP that this is urgent now.
