Any positive stories about them anyone? I'm sick of reading that they won't come out or act to protect animals so want to hear what they actually do now
I've drawn a blank

Kind of quiet in terms of positive. Thing is, even individual and organisation does some good and some bad. Their measure is where the balance lies, not in each individual act they perform. My view is the RSPCA do far more harm than good but of course there will be some good experiences out there.

2 incidents of great response to horses in need a few years ago.
Which I gather is unheard of.
The helpline now is to basically naff off.

My local RSPCA do great work rehabilitating wildlife, the only pets they have are typically inspector cases*, so ferals, strays, abandoned and legal cases. My own cat is a former semi-feral from there. They had done a lot of work with her before she was ready to home. So, yes, there are definitely positive stories.

*they have a contract with a local rescue who take on surrendered and straightforward rehoming cases.

I had to report my dad to the RSPCA earlier this year. He'd been neglecting his two dogs. They both had long matted fur and one of them had a mouth full of rotten teeth. After he refused my offer of help I had no choice but to take the matter to the RSPCA. The lady on the phone was lovely and listened to my concerns. And gave me a link to send my photographic evidence to. She then forwarded the information to a different team who decided whether or not to send someone out. They weren't allowed to tell me if they'd visited or not. So I only knew they'd actually been because my dad told me. They helped my dad to liaise with his vets to get the dog the treatment it needed. They gave my dad a £50 voucher towards the cost of the operation and helped him organise a payment plan for the rest of the treatment. The RSPCA officer checked up on him a few times to make sure he'd followed through with the appointments. So I think it was a really good out come. The dog got the treatment it needed and my dad got to keep his dogs.
