Hello I'm 22, and have anxiety. I had covid about 2 week ago got over all the symptoms and now my glans have swollen 2 either side of my neck at the top and one just above that on my head which is very painful, I have awful health anxiety and yes I did go doctors and she said it's just glands still swollen from covid, I'm in a lot of pain got pains down my neck and up my head and it feels slightly numb on my head too, has anyone had this? I didn't mention the numbing bcos I only noticed later on today, now I'm panicking please tell me this numbing will be caused by this painful glan, if it doesn't go then I'll go back but praying it does go I'm terrified. Thanks

I forgot to mention I also had about 3 maybe more panic attacks today due to all this and going to the doctors, doctors had upped my meds but I was thinking it could be caused by anxiety the numbing? I'm not sure

@mumsnetter123 Hi op , I'll try to put your mind at rest if I can by telling you that I had the same soreness and swelling which lasted several weeks and it did eventually settle back down and return to normal. I didn't have any numbing that I can remember x

Thankyou it's really sore, hoping the numbing is caused by anxiety as I have it pretty bad, if it doesn't go I'll go back or go A&E thanks again

No wonder a&e is at breaking point if your going there with swollen glands that have already been checked by a gp Hmm
It's neither an accident or an emergency and certainly not life threatening

@mumsnetter123
I can't feel my face sometimes if I have bad anxiety. If you are really worried then always best to get yourself checked out. Peace of mind is so valuable. Ignore anyone who pointlessly posts on here trying to make you feel bad.

Swollen glands are very, very common and yes, they’re painful. I had glandular fever as a teenager and the swollen glands lasted on and off for about two years. ( I did have GF very badly, according to GP, he wanted to send me to hospital at one point)
All you can do is take otc painkiller ( ask a pharmacist which is best for you) Drink lots. And rest all you can. It will improve.

Thankyou ladies. And just to point out. I work worth the NHS in the hospital. Sometimes these things are worse than you think and nowadays GPS are sending people with any lumps to A&E thanks for your opinion anyway. Some of us have health anxiety and that's valid I'm here to have good conversations to help my anxiety calm down. Anyway thanks to the ones who are being lovely and understand, I've tried paracetamol and ibrurofen gel, it's helped abit and I'm a bit better than before it's just the numbing what scares me. But apparently can happen due to large glans and having infections and I've just had covid. Thanks again

Like I said it's the numbness on the top of my head what's worrying.

Anyone who comes across this post just to clarify, the glan what's swollen on the back of my head is pressing against a nerve cause the numbness/sensations. Thankyou everyone for your comments! Glad it wasn't anything serious x
