Smart gender neutral clothing for teens

lifeturnsonadime · 03/08/2022 15:59

My 13 year old daughter is autistic and struggles to tolerate the feeling of most clothes.

She needs a smartish outfit in a week or so's time, she only wears boys joggers and t-shirts.

I've tried shopping with her today and we've drawn a blank.

Long shot but does anyone have any recommendations as to brands or specific items which might work?

TIA

M&S adaptive range do some shirts that have all the itchy labels covered and looser flexible cuffs which can make them more comfortable for sensory issues
If she would like a white shirt to wear with her jeggings or whatever

If she fits adult sizes 6/8 or above tesco does a range of trousers that are technically joggers but with a more professional adult look- so they read as smart trousers but have soft elasticated waists and feel like tracksuit bottoms to wear.

I've got black straight leg trousers from Gap that have stretch in them and look smart. Imagine they would be a staple in lots of high street shops. Also black 'luxe joggers' from M&S that have an elasticated waistband. Could pair it with a plain long sleeved t-shirt maybe with a granddad collar to look a bit smarter?

Lacoste do jersey and polo dresses that are just chic elongated sports tops but they're a bit on the pricey side. You might be able to get a rip off or find one on Vinted

Has she been to the event now? Hope she was comfortable in what she was wearing, and had a great time!
