Hi all

I am increasingly finding myself feeling old. I am truly grateful and privileged to have reached over 50yrs but seem to be ruminating about how old I suddenly feel and where the time has gone!

I still work part time and I am about to embark on a PhD in the autumn. I have also just started running so it’s not as if I am stagnating as a contributory factor to feeling old!

I would love to hear other mumsnetters experiences of how they have

rocked life post 50 to hep cheer me up

Wow dear mumsnetters I was not expecting such a great response. All of your posts have cheered me up immensely and I am in utter awe at how you are rocking it (even if you feel your not!).

What truly inspirational people you are. Your posts show the myriad of opportunities and self development that can take place 50 plus. I feel much more optimistic ( although there is still room for improvement.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post. You all do truly rock. 😀

agree with op! I’m about to be 59. Feeling very old and useless, just realised the carp that Dh has put me through. but this thread has shown me that there are all sorts of ways to be 59. If I rephrase it, I’ve survived illness and childbirth- should have died 6 times now. Thanks nhs. So I’m tough, I’m about to start a new tech based job, maybe I’ll be brave enough to paint the house.
