Cauda Equina Syndrome?

Would you be concerned about CES with these symptoms? I don’t want to bother my GP or waste time and resources at the ED.

Severe low back pain with stiffness (unable to sit or walk)
Feeling the need to pee all day (but no issues peeing other than urgency)
Pins and needles in one foot
Mild tingling sensation down the back of legs
Burning sensation in lower back along with feeling icy in the same region.

Thoughts?

Glad to hear you are in hospital that is the best thing. I hope its nothing serious but at least you can get some decent pain meds.

What happened???

CE is considered a emergency.... loss of control over bowel and urine . Poor anal tone, altered sensation to lower limbs. If you have any of these please go straight to casualty with a orthopaedic service. You could be left paralysed if not treated. Better to be careful than to regret. You need a mri scan.

I have just been treated for suspected CES (fortunately it wasn't)

I ended up in A&E due to extreme pain and similar symptoms to those you describe. I was seen for an MRI the following morning and advised that if it was CES then I would be rushed to the orthopaedic hospital for emergency surgery. 111 were concerned about me making my own way to hospital and only reluctantly agreed to cancel the ambulance when I pointed out I live a 3 minute drive from the hospital.

My initial contact with 111 was via the online forms that I filled in to try and get stronger meds. I was called back within 10 minutes due to the potential urgency of the situation.
