Do you think going on holiday for a month, would you find it too long ?

I would enjoy it but I would never get that much time off work so not possible, I'm afraid!

If I was going abroad to somewhere with plenty to see then yes, somewhere on the beach like Spain, two weeks would be plenty, likewise UK. We are retired so can go for any amount of time but I prefer shorter and often to fewer large long holidays

We go away for a month to six weeks from just after Christmas to early February to escape January in GB.
I really love doing it (obvs DC all grown up now). We've been twice to southern Spain, and have just booked for the third time for Jan 2023.
The weather has always been very pleasant, around 20-22 degrees and there's a couple more hours of daylight too.

We've also been to Biarritz for the whole of January and the weather was amazing, it seems to have its own micro-climate.

PermanentTemporary · 02/08/2022 06:43

Not for me. I'd do a 2 week holiday and 2 weeks at home.

Caspianberg · 02/08/2022 06:45

Not a problem . I couldn’t go to just a beach holiday in a hotel that long as would be bored, but travelling around, exploring its ideal.
Im hoping to go to Japan and then Australia with Dh and ds in 2024 ( Ds will be 3.5/4). And we will probably aim for a 5-6 week trip if possible.

3 months for us was quite normal for many years until covid struck and all this airport nonsense. We would go to Asia and rent cheap apartments or hotels and loved it and really miss it.
Hoping to do Spain Jan - Feb - March.

blanchrspot · 02/08/2022 06:49

we did this as kids all the time & I do it now.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 02/08/2022 07:41

I went away for 6 weeks once - it was fabulous. Didn't want to come back!

soberfabulous · 02/08/2022 07:42

I haven't had even a two week holiday since I was 16 (impossible with work) so a month would be incredible!

Sadly it wouldn't work in my industry and if then use up all my holiday allowance in one go, so I have to make do with a week:

I'm now fantasizing about a month off!

Bananapancakes20 · 02/08/2022 07:47

We prioritise going for 4/6 week long trips (the benefit of being self employed). We work crazy hours and then have a long trip. We love to travel and road trip, also have a holiday home that we would happily move into if brexit allowed. No amount of time is enough there, even if it is a bit snug with our toddler now!

Unescorted · 02/08/2022 07:47

We spent 12 months bimbling about Europe..... it was awesome & I would do it again in a heartbeat if money was no object.

QueSyrahSyrah · 02/08/2022 07:49

I'be been away for 6 weeks travelling around a country with an ex and could have carried on for longer.

On the other hand I've done 3 weeks travelling around a country on my own, and I was ready to come home and see familiar people by the end of that.

Defender90 · 02/08/2022 07:49

Yes, we're about to head off for our third three week holiday, we road trip booking as we go so we can stay places we like for longer.

I don't think I could stay in one place for a whole three weeks.

Workyticket · 02/08/2022 07:52

We're 2 weeks into a 3 week holiday and I could stay longer! We're incredibly lazy holiday makers - pool by day, chilled evenings too. A couple of wanders out but no real plan

Ds (10) is living the dream (after a couple of days settling in)

He's made friends, conquered his fear of pool slides, learnt to dive in the pool etc.

I know lots of mumsnetters would hate our holiday style but we love it and have loved spending time together doing not much

Yes
But context is crucial here

So you'll get better MN responses if you give a little bit more contextual info.
