Botox, fillers etc Weird stretched look?

I'm starting to develop some 11s and forehead lines and recently I've been considering getting Botox.

In the past few months I've noticed several celebs - Tom cruise as Maverick, Brandon Flowers at a Killers concert and Kylie in the neighbours finale, all look as though they've obviously had stuff done.
The thing they all have in common is something around the eyes and high, arched brows maybe? It looks really odd!
Don't get me wrong they all look good but just very obviously 'done' even though they must use the best people.

Is this avoidable? Just a result of too many procedures or is it inevitable over time?
Just interested to know thoughts.

I've just had botox for the exact same reasons.

Not at all stretched just stops movements, although the deep routed lines like mine are will take awhile to go as i was told its like a folded piece of paper the longer its not folder the less obvious it will be, so its not a automatic fix on the 11's

I can tell when people have had work done! They look a bit like cats.

Bellyups · 31/07/2022 20:34

They l’ve had too much, over a long period of time. If you don’t over do Botox or can look very natural. The key to both is never over do it.

Yes maybe it's just the amount I also wonder if it's best to ease off a bit at some point as Kylie looked great a few years ago but now looks really unnatural. I think she needs a few lines to stop it looking so harsh.

I thought that about Natalie Portman in the Thor film. Too overdone- it just starts to look weird. What must happen is that people start doing it and they can't stop, so the first few times it might look alright but then over the years it gets odd.

Delatron · 31/07/2022 21:05

Kylie has been having Botox for about 15 years (or longer maybe). She does sometimes overdo the Botox and fillers and I guess if you do it for years and years it stops looking natural.

Agree Kylie looked better when she eased off a few years ago.

it's because they try and keep their face at the same age forever.. rather than changing the botox and fillers to allow some level of aging to occur (just less than would usually happen) and stay natural looking

you won't get that from. just 11s though

Not the point but I was startled at how different and ‘stretched’ Brandon flowers looked at a killers concert on the big screen. Had to Google when I got home, and no better. He looks like the caricature of the bad guy in toy town if anyone remembers it

underneaththeash · 31/07/2022 22:57

How old are you OP?

underneaththeash · 31/07/2022 22:59

Natalie Portman in Thor has had those awful lip fillers which make everyone look like a duck.

Friffle · 31/07/2022 23:03

It will probably look fine if you do your research and find a good practitioner. But I think it's inevitable that anyone who goes in for these tweakments over a long period of time will eventually have that 'done' look.

I'm intrigued to see what Brandon Flowers looks like now so am off to google. He was always such a handsome man (although not my type) so must be feeling the pressure.

Oh I know! On one of the fan groups someone described him as looking like a vampire Elvis which fits 😂 He was ageing so well too. His wife definitely indulges, she has the 'done' look too.
I'm a huge fan of his hence the username so I still love him regardless ☺️

To the PP who asked my age, I'm 41 and I definitely look it now whereas a couple of years ago I could have passed for about 5 years younger than I was.

I don't think it's botox that give the weird "cat" look, I think that's fillers esp in the cheeks.

Looking at you, Natalie Imbruglia, in the Neighbours final. Courtney Cox and Madonna are the same. When your cheeks get puffed up, the eyes look smaller and angled.

A touch of botox to stop your frowning is no big deal imho.

MacaroniBaloney · 31/07/2022 23:44

Isn't it threading that causes the stretched cat eye look?

At worst Botox makes you go plasticy smooth and only if you have alot all over.

Used well it's a refresher and no one can tell. You just look a better version. And when used for 11's just less pissed off.

Exactly this.

Nobody looks like a cat from too much Botox, that's threads and face lifts.

Too much Botox gives a waxy look, little to no movement in the face stops expressions so you become almost inhuman like.

A little here and there, topped up when needed and not a moment before, done by professionals, not people who went on a quick one day course or keep injecting the same person because they know it's addictive and they can keep getting cash from it.

I've had a very small amount of fillers. I asked for a tiny top up on my top lip and the clinic I go to refused because they explained that when we look at our face every day, we get used to our features or our "new" features. I went in and they felt my lips and said no way are we touching them again yet, when they showed me a photo of my lips after I had them done and put me in front of their mirror with the photo next to me, I could then tell that actually I'd barely lost any filler at all.

shivermetimbers77 · 31/07/2022 23:58

I had Botox for my 11s and forehead lines and I asked for a light touch but I still ended up with a really heavy brow for about a month which made my eyes look very strange and small. I was so relieved when it wore off!

HinchcliffeandMurgatroyd · 01/08/2022 00:05

Botox and fillers are two different things. Baby boric just for the elevens won’t have bad effects. Just be sure what your plan is before you start, and don’t get sucked into trying everything.

LoveMyPiano · 01/08/2022 00:08

I had one Botox treatment in my forehead in 2006. I still have no lines..... (go figure), apart from one or two very shallow horizontal. I didn't really have 11s, but think I had an injection in that area.
I didn't lie the feeling when it seemed as though the needle made contact with my skull. And I did have one tiny wrinkle right at the very top of my forehead....weird.
It was smooth but never shiny and I didn't get the heavy feeling, but did have a headache for a day or two.

As for the rest of my face.....😝😭
