Questions for residents of Jersey please

Hello! We're visiting Jersey next week for a fortnight, there's me, DH, and kids are 10, 8 and 3.
I've researched the attractions and I'm hoping that we spend most days on the beach to keep costs down.
I've learned that we're there during the battle of flowers which looks fab but DC1 is autistic and I think would struggle if the crowds are really big. Can anyone tell me if the floats are parked up somewhere to go and look at between the day parade on Thursday and the night parade on Friday?
If anyone has any other tips or advice on best places to go or eat I'd be so grateful. I'm on a tight budget so good value is important.

Watsersplash was actually the one place we hated. There are certain places we go in and get ignored, I don't know if it's something that happens once you get to your late 40s if you don't fit with the demographic "vibe", they just want you to leave? Watersplash was one, Mora in Guernsey was another.

We are twice the age of half the patrons of the watersplash.
But we don't do anything to be ignored, just choose a table and go and order food. We avoid it at weekends though.
